Writer said that J.C can be comfortable to speak about any issues or concerns with her and that she would not judge him. J.C seemed preoccupied with other thoughts and kept changing the subject to speak about biblical aspects but writer prompted him to stay on topic. J.C admitted that he felt that he could not resist R.S and admitted that in the past there had been a lot of instances where R.S would invite J.C to drink on property either around the forest line or in R.S 's room. Writer encouraged J.C to think about all the positives about remaining sober and asked if he would feel comfortable using those in the future when these circumstances arose. J.C said that he would and explained that sober living has positively impacted his life and feels that without alcohol he can accomplish many things such as moving out on his own and obtaining a full time job.
The character Kym Buchman in the film “Rachel Getting Married” is someone who may benefit from a client-centered therapy. Although the film took place after her involvement in her brother’s death subsequent entry into numerous drug rehabilitation programs, client-centered therapy relies on verbal self-reports as the primary method of gathering information, which Kym is capable of providing. Her behavior, according to phenomenology, is determined by her experiences, or phenomenal field; gathering information on her phenomenal field using her self-reports to understand how she perceives the world and past events is critical. A challenge Patrick may face may be awareness and knowledge, he may face this as well as others. Patrick may be aware that he has HIV however he may not be aware how much this will effect him and he may not be aware how to deal with it as he may lack the knowledge. In order to overcome this Patrick could educate himself in depth on HIV, this will help him come to terms with it and will also help him to help others understand HIV. The purpose of this paper is to discuss and reflect on my experience attending an Alcoholic Anonymous meeting. Alcoholic anonymous (AA) was created to help individuals effected by Alcohol collaborate and support each other during their time of need. All AA meetings are structured differently. However, there are only two types of meetings: opened and closed meetings. During my experience, I attended an open meeting where anyone can come regardless of a diagnosed alcohol problem or the level of experience one had with participating in such meetings.
In my first session, the group started with a silent prayer, and read Alcoholic announcement. Next, the reader introduced the group leader. The group leader stated that goals that needs to be accomplish in this group which is stay sober day by day. The group leader also discuss in the group session about alcoholism. The group leader stated that alcoholism is a disease, and alcoholism progress and a chronic disorder.
Throughout my whole life, my father has been an alcoholic. There have been times when he has tried to quit, but it never lasted for more than a few months. His addiction has brought on stressful times for my family. Some days we did not know where he was or if he was coming home. Although my father’s addiction might not have made the best childhood, he did show me the kind of person I did not want to be.
My initial perception of the members in the room is that some members may be shy to disclose their stories, but was amazed that everyone came forth in the room to discuss their shortcoming. Furthermore, I did not have any stereotypes perception about alcoholism since I am aware that alcoholism is a disease that affects the brain. The last individual discussed how he’s been clean and sober for eight years now. He talked about how difficult it has been, as his addiction to alcohol was one of the hardest things he has gone through. He talked about how he always reflection on his past experiences. He thinks about what if he hung out with a better crowed, or what if he moved to a different state. He said if he moved to Florida, he may have never hung out with the wrong crowd, and then many have never got addicted to alcohol.
The peer support helps people feel like they have support from people facing identical challenges. Suggestions and words of hope are instilled throughout the meeting. Incentives for sobriety are offered and encouragement is provided. There were several people who stated during the meeting that they attempted to attend church to curtail their addiction.
For this journal entry I will be examining my alcohol pattern. I am not much of a drinker, however, I am a social drinker. My friends and I gather together once or twice each month and every time when a couple of my friends gather for a mini party, we would have a bottle of beer or two. I am not an alcoholic nor do I do alcohol abuse. Only social motives would motivate me to drink, for example, when my friends and I celebrate a holiday together or someone 's birthday.

She reports anxiety about the future and wonders if she will become less lonely or learn to cope and accept the loneliness she experiences. Therefore, client X would like to address her issue with loneliness and gain techniques and advice about coping and accepting her loneliness. Client X had an excellent childhood, surrounded by friends and family and extended family all the time. She was very close with her family and still is. She had a very active period, playing multiple sports and maintaining a part-time job, while attending
