In the Book of Mormon Alma says in chapter 42 verse 26 “And thus God bringeth about his great and eternal purposes, which were prepared from the foundation of the world. And thus cometh about the salvation and the redemption of men, and also the destruction of misery.” Religion is the basis of morality which is the encouragement to live a virtuous life that will, in the end, bring about happiness. It is important to have a good sense of the doctrine and principles of religion. Religion brings about structure and guidance to prepare humankind for exaltation and eternal happiness bringing everyone joy and purpose.
To begin, the day Cassie and I met was on the first day of sophomore year, she walked into my homeroom class because she got kicked out of hers for talking too much. I started attending church events such as potlucks and talent shows. I enjoyed them very much. These missionaries, who volunteer to preach all around the world, would come to her house to talk about the gospel during dinnertime on the days they invited me over for dinner. There are five lessons which are: Restoration, Plan of Salvation, The Gospel, Commandments, and the Laws and Ordinances of the Lord. Eventually, I learned all of these lessons by meeting with the sisters. The main purpose in the church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints is eternal happiness, eternal families, and eternal guidance from the spirit for exaltation, being one like God in heaven, and that is what I wanted.
