Renewable Energy Earth has been around for billions of years, but will it still be the here for our posterity to experience it? Climate change is a global issue that involves everyone around the world. Many countries have taken the step in reducing their carbon footprint by using renewable energy. Renewable energy has brought economic and environmental benefits to countries that have started using it while aspiring to create a more environmentally friendly society.

On average, the modern day American consumes tons of energy and resources in almost everything they do. “People in the U.S. [should] reduce their current energy level by more than 50% and it’s possible. Eventually, we will be forced to reduce energy consumption” (Pimental 13). Renewable energy can provide an abundant amount of energy, but it can’t meet the amount of energy demanded by American citizens. Will renewable energy meet the demands of future American citizens? With the rapidly growing population; eventually, we will run out of fossil fuels to use for energy because is an inexhaustible energy source and won’t be present forever. Renewable energy will be present forever and doesn’t diminish the more you use it; however, the growing population can deter people from preventing renewable energy from becoming our only sources of energy. Renewable energy is less pernicious than other sources as it helps reduce our carbon emissions into the atmosphere, provides an alternative to burning fossil fuel and provide economical and environmental benefits; however, renewable energy comes with problems. For instance, renewable energy creates an unequal playing field, capital cost, sitting and transmission, market entry, and reliability misconceptions. Renewable energy cost significant money to obtain the materials for the usage of renewable energy and finding the area where renewable energy could be most useful provide disadvantages to using it. Even more, renewable energy will have to compete with big expensive corporations in the market.
