“Renewable energy resources that is naturally regenerated over a short time scale and derived directly from the sun, indirectly from the sun or from other natural movement and mechanisms of the environment. Renewable energy does not include energy resources derived from fossil fuels, waste product from fossil sources, or waste products from inorganic sources.”
There are a few types of renewable energy sources.
1) Wind Energy
2) Biomass
3) Hydropower
4) Geothermal
5) Solar
All electricity sources, renewable and nonrenewable, have advantages and deficiencies. Factors are includes:
• Maintenance cost
• Feasibility analysis.
• Initial cost.
• Inputs and Byproducts.
• Environmental safety factors.
Each of these sources has exclusive characteristics which manipulate how and where they are used among these sources.
1.1 Wind Energy System Wind is air in motion, it is due to uneven heating of earth surface by the sun rays. Since the earth surface consists of different types of land the water, it absorbs the sun heat at different rates. Wind energy is mainly used to generate electricity like earlier wind mills modern wind machines used blades to collect the winds Kinetic energy.
1.1.1 Advantages
1) The blades ere connect to shaft that turn on an electric generator to produce electricity.
2) Use of wind power to produce electricity on commercial scale has become the fastest growing energy technology.
3) Wind energy is comparatively labor exhaustive and as a result creates
