My first paper topic is going to be on the summer blockbuster classic Jaws by Steven Spielberg. I am choosing this movie for several reasons, it is one of, if not my absolute favorite movie of all-time, also it was considered the first summer blockbuster. Lastly, it was the movie that elevated Steven Spielberg’s career and opened the gateway for so many classic films such as Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and E.T. that would proceed it. I am choosing project B because it allows me to just examine one director and just one of his films singularly, and focus in on the impact both the director and film have had on Hollywood as well as its impact commercially. Jaws has a lot of film techniques but the ones that stood out to me the most were really exciting like the eye level shot, where the woman is in the water and all you see is her face and some people swimming behind her. She appears to be pretty calm in the start but then she sees he 's sharks fin out of nowhere. The camera then points to to the shark fin.
