Pokémon is a worldwide popular RPG turn base game; this paper is going to show how to get a Pokémon stronger than how it would normally be in game the use of IVs and EVs (this will be talk about later in the paper). Pikachu the Pokémon mascot will be use as the example Pokémon in the paper, because most people know what it is. First however let’s talk about the history of Pokémon for those who don’t know what it is. The history of Pokémon spans over twenty years from when it began to officially work on the first Pokémon game (red, blue, and yellow) to now (omega ruby and alpha sapphire), and has roots that are even older than the idea of Pokémon. When Tajiri found out about the Nintendo Game Boy and the Link Cable for the Game Boy, he imagined small bugs traveling along a wire to either Game Boy. That would later be use as a way to trade Pokémon with friends. Tajiri was also inspired by the Ultraman fantasy TV show in Japan, Ultra Seven, in which a protagonist that used monsters captured within small capsule like objects to help fight for him. This helped give him the idea for Pokéballs. Pokéballs are used to capture the Pokémon that someone may run into. Together, these two things gave him the idea for a game he called Capsule Monsters. After a few failed attempts at presenting his idea to Nintendo, Tajiri's friend Shigeru Miyamoto presented it to Nintendo and they liked it. Nintendo then began to help fund the project. It took six years to develop the games that would soon be a global sensation and with only a small team of developers to make it happen. This was the completion of Satoshi Tajiri's dream and allowed all ages to catch, train and trade all 151 Pokémon at the time and become a Pokémon master. At first the Pokémon games had pretty good sales in japan but not the best. However, after players discovered the legendary Pokémon Mew in the games. The magazine called CoroCoro an issue that did a legendary Pokémon distribution to distribute Mew to a random twenty entrants that enter a submission. This contest received over 78,000 entries, and the Pokémon games sales quickly increased. Due to high sales because of the Mew distribution, the Pokémon Red and Green were quickly followed up with the Pokémon Blue game, which had better graphics and sounds than the first two games. The popularity soon reached North America and got the Red and Blue Versions, as well as the TV show, in Sep 1998 (the TV show came out on the 7th and the games on the 30th), and soon everywhere around the world began to play Pokémon on the Game Boy under the Pokémon slogan “Gotta Catch 'em
