Everybody has an enemy. The key question is whether that enemy is tangible, like a person, or intangible, like their emotions or just themselves overall. My enemy happens to be the later, my emotions, particularly fear. It stops me from doing things and just generally colors my life. My every decision is affected by it.
There is a quote by Mike Tyson that really shows how fear works. It goes, ͞Fear is your best friend or worst enemy. It’s like fire. If you can control it, it can cook for you; it can heat your house. If you can’t control it, it will burn everything around you and destroy you.͟ My fear burns everything in its path making everyday a cliché heroic fight. Which most of the time I can’ t win.

No matter how many times you beat it fear will come back the next day whispering all the little things that can go wrong. Sometimes you can fight it though for smaller things like let’s actually do this assignment instead of going into a spiral about how if I don’t do it I won’t graduate type things.
But sometimes the bigger things never get confronted like the huge final project that’s due at the end of the marking period that you’ve known about since the first day that you put off for fear of failure. And then you really do fail those things because fear has won. It convinced you that you wouldn’t succeed no matter how much effort you put in. And after years of it you’re not very surprised.
So over the years of fighting this enemy you start to care less and put less effort in. But people don’t understand why and constantly argue with you about not living to your potential.
Then they go on and complain about you being proud of a small achievement, handing something in on time you actually did in a timely manner not the night before, and say that still isn’t enough. Which turns the whole word into an enemy in the end. And once you reach
