Mansa Musa was the Emperor of Mali in the fourteenth century, he was known for being the richest ruler. He was born around 1230 and died around 1337. Mansa Musa is mostly known for his journey to the Muslim holy city in Mecca where he was introduced him to rulers in the Middle East and in Europe. Musa came to the throne of West Africa’s Mali Empire through a practice of appointing a deputy when a king goes on his pilgrimage to Mecca or journeys somewhere else and later naming the deputy as heir. According to historians, Musa was appointed the deputy of Abubakari II.
Christamas, or “La Navidad”, begins very early in Puerto Rico. They start early in December and go on through the middle of January. The most important of the celebrations are December 24 – Nochebuena, December 25 – Navidad, and December 31 - Despedida de Año. The most important of all is El Dia de Reyes. This is Three Kings Day which is on January 6th.
One cold January night a beautiful baby girl was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Elizabeth Griscom, or better known as Betsy Ross. Betsy came from a family of Quakers, so she eventually learned to sew when she was apprenticed to an upholsterer. In 1773 Betsy ran away from home to marry her secret lover, John Ross. Then opened an upholstery shop where Betsy sewed. While working in her upholstery shop in New Jersey, Betsy Ross got a visit from General George Washington.

This past Sunday, June 18th, America lost muslim teen, Nabra Hassanen to what most call road rage, and others, a hate crime. Hassanen, accompanied by a group of friends were headed back to a local mosque after a trip to a fast-food restaurant. It was then that they encountered driver Darwin Martinez Torres and an argument erupted. The altercation escalated, resulting in the capturing and death of 17 year old Hassanen. Torres had beaten her with a baseball bat, abducted her, and dumped her body into a lake.
The kingdom of Mali was established around 1235 CE. Sundiata Keita was a ruler who formed the empire of Mali. Mansa Sundiata and his grandson Mansa Musa are known as two of the most influential Malian kings. The capital city of the empire was Niani. Around the year 1000 CE, West Africa was home to three major kingdoms, the Mali, Ghana, and Sosso.
My culture project is about french Guiana and the food they eat on holidays like Christmas, one of the delicious dish names the orange cheesecake. They make this dish with creamy Carmel-orange sauce on top. To begin, the french guyanese people look at the birth of Jesus of Nazareth. They believed in that December 25 was an ideal date to remember the teaching of the sublime teacher of love and compassion. They also learned to make a contribution for the strengthening of human values in our society.
History After 1492 You’ve most likely heard of the phrase “history repeats itself”. It is important to know our history so we don’t make the same mistakes that our ancestors made. For many of us our ancestors come from another country of the world, for me it is Mexico. Today i will be talking about history after the year 1492. With that said, the Aztecs had a rise and fall, there was also a road to revolution that was was a feud between the U.S and Mexico over land, last but not least there was the rebuilding of the Mexican nation.
No doubt, Barack Obama is the president of the United States of America. Obama has done so many amazing things while he was president. Like how he eliminated Osama Bin Laden, ended the war in Iraq, and how he increased the support of the veterans. Some people think Obama has done nothing good while he was president. But he was one of the best presidents in U.S.A history.
As an American we believe that continuously staring at someone is rude and can come off as threatening (Changing Minds). In caribbean culture, it is common to have others stare someone without the thought of it being disrespectful. In both Haitian and Montserratian culture staring at someone shows interest in whatever they may be doing (Culture Crossing Guide). Even though each culture has their differences, some share similarities. America and Montserrat have similar social expectations when greeting someone.
HAITI Samuel chambers Introduction Haiti's main religion is Voodoo. When something happens in Haiti people go to there local Shaman(man) or Mambo (woman). Haiti may not look like much, but it is rich with history from voodoo shaman leading the slaves to revolution to the heat hot enough to kill. Haiti is interesting because of its Geography, weather, plants, animals, people and cultures. Landforms Haiti is a beautiful place with palm trees and beaches it is perfect for a holiday.

Dominican Republic The Dominican Republic has a beautiful scenery and is a great destination for vacation. The Dominican Republic is located on the island of Hispaniola, along with Haiti to the west. The Atlantic Ocean is to the north and the Caribbean Sea is to the south of the Dominican Republic. “Hispaniola is formed by the peaks of two undersea mountain chains, one coming from Cuba, and the other from Jamaica.”
Strengths: The major strength of The kingdom of Saudi Arabia relies heavily on its strategic location. As it is the birthplace of prophet Mohammed and the birth of Islam, it has great antiques and history that is appreciated by Arabs, Muslims and everyone around the world, as the history of the Arab peninsula goes back to more than 1400 years. This provides tons of historic information and antiques that will attract tourists around the world. Another strength is the constant visits from Muslims throughout the year, which will motivate the Saudi government to be on a constant road to development to provide ease for visitors when performing religious rituals.
