1. There are many accusations of who was responsible for the smallpox outbreak in Fort Pitt, during the summer 1763. Many of the Native Americans accused the British soldiers of being responsible for the outbreak. There is suspension that Jeffery Amherst, the British commander in chief, knew of smallpox infected blankets being given to Natives by the end of June. William Trent is also credited with writing an account of the event in his diary.
Valley Forge was a base winter camp located next to Pennsylvania. George Washington helped out and taught the soldiers how to use guns and fight battles. I am going to leave Valley Forge because the quality of this camp is horrible. (DOC A) There was a very high percentage of soldiers who died of illness because they did not cure any illnesses.
The Battle/Siege of Vicksburg The Battle of Vicksburg was one of the most crucial points in the Civil War. It helped Eradicate the Rebels/Confederacy once and for all. The Civil War was fought for over 4 years and it lasted from 1861-1865. It was one of the most horrific wars the world has ever known and witnessed.
The Little Rock Nine The Little Rock Nine are a group of nine African American Students that played an important role in the Civil Rights Movement. Although there was resistance between these nine students and the community they stood strong and walked in the streets lined with soldiers to school. The picture of Elizabeth and Hazel is a glimpse into a time when it was hard for African American’s to become a part of a society who were not welcoming. When looking at a picture of such controversy it brings emotions of sadness and anger.
Have you ever left a particular place but return only for everything to have disappeared? In 1578, Sir Walter Raleigh sailed overseas to America with his explorius half brother, Sir Humphrey Gilbert. The exploring that took place sparked an interest in Raleigh to one day colonize in America. Shortly after his return, he was granted permission by Queen Elizabeth I to do such a thing. In the summer of 1585, Raleigh sent off a group of motivated English settlers to settle in the New World.
The colors, they are so fascinating to this work of art that the weather created. The work of art was mad by water on a cotton plantation back in the 1800s. Providence Canyon has an amazing scenery with many different colors on the walls of the canyon. Every time it rained on the cotton field the water would form a huge ditch or trench that kept expanding.

Pennsylvania, chartered in 1682, was a colony with the goal of religious freedom, successful economy, ethnic and racial diversity. Pennsylvania was the meeting point for many conventions and signings throughout history, especially during the time of the American Revolution. Many leaders from this colony contributed greatly to America and what it is today, despite some resistance from other significant figures. As a whole, Pennsylvania was in agreement with uniting with the other 12 colonies and ratifying the Constitution due to Philadelphia’s large role as a central city for conventions in addition to many valued pro-independence political figures coming from this colony. Pennsylvania was founded on the basis of equality and justice.
The Power of a Few Citizens America’s history is full of conflict, and also full of positive change. A prime example of this is the Civil Rights Movement. Following Reconstruction, which took place after the Civil War, Jim Crow laws and segregation rose despite efforts to achieve equality for African Americans, like the 14th and 15th Amendments (Introduction to the Civil Rights Movement). The Civil Rights Movement was a period of fighting for political, economical, social, and just about any other type of equality for African Americans. Despite extreme backlash and disapproval from white supremacist groups and racists, mainly in the South, a positive change was created, credited to the many events that took place during this time (Carson).
“On the afternoon of July 2,1863, the second day at Gettysburg, Colonel Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain led the 20th Regiment Maine Volunteers, fewer than 500 officers and men, up the steep slope of Little Round Top and into the pages of history.” ( Longacre ) . In May 1863, Gettysburg had begun with General Robert E. Lee’s Army of Northern Virginia's second invasion of the North. On its second day, Lee ordered an attack on Union forces just south of Gettysburg. His men, fresh off a successful first day of fighting, stormed the Union army’s left flank, but they were repelled as a result Chamberlain’s famous bayonet charge down Little Round Top.

The Battle of Gettysburg was a huge factor in the abolishment of slavery. It is one of the most important battles because it created new war strategies and was the turning point in the Civil War, which led to the Gettysburg Address. The Confederate general, Robert E. Lee, was very confident because of his army utmost victory.
America needs to stop using the penny. Every year the U.S. wastes around 55 million dollars on making pennies. They are harmful to the environment. Cost more to make then they are worth. So the U.S. needs to stop using them.
