A dental assistant is defined as a health professional who works closely with and under the supervision of a dentist. They assist the dentist during certain procedures as well as meet with patients. A couple of other job duties they preform are preparing the room for the patient, sterilizing and disinfecting equipment, and providing and laying out instruments for the patient’s procedure.
