Question #1
In the story Revenge of the Cheerleaders by Janette Rallison there are two main characters, Chelsea and Rick. Chelsea is the protagonist. Chelsea is 17 years old about to be 18 and a senior in high school. She is captain of the cheerleading team at their school. Chelsea has pale skin and long blonde hair. I would say that she is conceited because on (pg. 1) she says “Super models probably slack off more with their looks than I have over the last month.” That sentence shows that she really cares about her looks and cares about what people think of her. She has a bestfriend and her name is Samantha. The antagonist in the story is Rick. Rick dates Chelsea’s younger sister Adrian. He is a senior in high school. The resolution of the story is when Rick stops Adrian at the airport, sings her a song, wins her back, and walk off happy. I know that touch screen cell phones have not been out for more than 15-20 years, this shows that it had to be recent. Chelsea was more comfortable in her house, around her cheer squad, and at school. I think it is because she is more used to being around and in those environments. The same goes for Rick. He was always comfortable around Adrian, his friends, and at big parties. I think that the setting really did change the characters attitudes. I felt as that Rick didn’t like being around the cheerleaders because he felt as if he was never up to their standards, he wasn’t perfect enough or he always stood out from them. The time period is
