In his speech, “Impudence in the Streets,” Vice President Spiro T. Agnew said, “ It is time to stop dignifying the immature actions of arrogant, reckless, inexperienced elements within our society. The reason is compelling. It is simply that their tantrums are insidiously destroying the fabric of American democracy.” Vice President Agnew said this as a call to end protests that stemmed from the “New Left”. The students for a Democratic Society talks about their growing up in comfort to realize that not everyone had the same life they did. In document two they discussed the dangers of nuclear weapons, the bigotry that they have witnessed, and the decline of America disguised as the Golden Age. While they discussed a utopian society I believe they showed that their main focuses was the smaller changes for equality to work their way to the perfect society.
