Graham Hill’s presented a speech at TED Talk concerning “ Less Stuff, More Happiness”. On October 2011. The people in the audience are high class and intelligent. Hill believes that clearing someone's life with unnecessary items they do not need will make room for happiness. Hills speaks about his own beliefs but the information he gives in based facts. Hill appeals to the audiences in a way factual rational to follow what he says. Hill tells the audience that downsizing, they will not only reduce their carbon footprint, but will also save them money. “Americans can live 3x more space than they did 50 years ago” (Hill). Hill also tells the audiences that there’s a new industry in town, a 22 billion dollar project with 2.2 billion sq ft of just new individual storage garages” (Hill). Hill first talks about Americans and how they struggle with giving away the items they do not use any more. The speech flows well into ideas causing the audience to follow along and understands what his message is. The audience likes how he describes how he did this in his life formally. Although Hill uses formal language as he talks to the audience as intelligent adults. Hill uses the type of vocabulary in his speech to let the audiences know that he is intelligent about the topic he’s discussing.
