Effective product advertising uses the rhetorical devices ethos logos and pathos to better impart information about whatever product they are attempting to sell to the consumer. These schemes can often subconsciously appeal to one’s emotions and companies are able to psychologically manipulate their buyers into believing that they would find the product they are supplying to be of aide in some way to them in some way. In this commercial, there are a few ways the creators could have dabbled into the emotions and thoughts of the viewers. Pathos is the emotional appeal that in marketing people use often to either purchase a product based on their feelings in doing so relieving their problem that the company shows the audience it has even though it may not be apparent. Because God’s cell phone ran out of battery while he was away from a wall charger. They are implying that if he were to have had a Mophie case on his cell phone that the destruction of Earth could have been prevented. Which is quite comical and can somewhat be relatable in sort that it almost feels like it’s the end of the world if that predicament occurs. At the end of the ad the words “When your phone dies, God knows what can happen.” I do believe that the advertisement’s marketing scheme was effective because they were so elaborate throughout the entire commercial showing each personal encounter and how every situation was tense, crooked, or backwards. Until it finally zooms out to God sitting in a blank room on a cloud when he says “gosh darn it” holding his phone when it then seems so minute and simple as to an issue that most people who own a cell phone have unfortunately experienced and can relate well
