Mergens, 1990, requires public secondary schools to allow access to religiously based student groups on the same basis as other student clubs. The school administration denied a group of students their right to create a Christian after school club. The schools excuse being that it lacked faculty support which led to the school and district being sued by the students.
The impactfulness of Jane Elliott's exercise is very evident with her third grade class. The accomplishment of permanently teaching children not to judge based on appearance over a few days is must not be overlooked. Bringing even more astonishing is the effect the exercise had on the children’s test scores, all of which achieved a higher average than before. Implementing this exercise across the nation could do a lot of good in teaching the next generation to have a little more understanding, but I appreciate Mrs. Elliott’s caution. Understanding how the same exercise could cause a lot of damage in a third grader if not done properly, She advises that to start, a few teachers go through training to learn how to properly teach the lesson.

The daycare center called Mrs. Palmer, Emma’s paternal grandmother, who was resentful of her role. She drops Emma off at home to scold Emma, saying, “Well, I certainly won’t be dropping work every time you and your grandmother are too negligent to take care of Emma. I know you and Tyrone had an informal arrangement.but you best believe that if he ever chooses to challenge that arrangement in court, I will ensure this incident is put on the record”(Acevedo, 256). This scolding gives Emani a reality check, that if she continues to rely on Abuela to parent her daughter, she will be in less control of how her daughter is taken care of and raised. Although she cannot change anything at the moment, due to her busy schedule, the scolding brings awareness to her that the coordination must change.
As I have grown up, I have heard many stories of my mom’s family. Stories of her sister, her mom, her dad. . . I know I haven’t heard it all. I’ve heard of her brother trying to stab her, of her dad emotionally manipulating her as she grew up, and of her mom not doing anything to stop it. Because of this, she doesn’t talk to them much.
She cared a lot about her step siblings and got concerned when they were leaving bill without them, she knew that he was abusive and could likely hurt them. She asked her mum why they couldn´t come with
Emma is one of those girls who is very popular at school and cares about her friends and family, but doesn’t care about much else. She is a really nice sister, but she can get to be a pain sometimes. Emma is actually a decent student though, no matter what people think about the “popular group” of kids at school, Emma is part of them and still a good student. She normally gets Bs and B+s for grades, and listens and learns when necessary. Did I mention that she can be a pain?
Emma was raised by her father and mother until they
