C3. a quotation that stands out to me is, “it was a wonderful picture: himmelstoss on the ground; haie bending over him with a fiendish grin and his mouth open with bloodlust, himmelstoss head on his knees” (50). This quote is significant because it demonstrates just how much the soldiers disliked himmelstoss. Himmelstoss is the most feared disciplinarian in the camps and he forced soldiers to obey ridiculous and dangerous orders because he enjoys tormenting them. The men are already angered by him but they now hear of His idea of a cure for Tjaden bed-wetting.
Have you ever been effected by school bulling? In the story Pricilla and the Wimps the bully Monk Clutter had the school under his control with his gang called Klutters Kobras. They had gone around the school taking lunch money from everyone. His self centered attitude had lead him too far over his head. While picking on a boy named Melvin he had finally met his match.
Knowing is good, but knowing all is better. Based on an actual incident, Gary Paulsen's book Nightjohn showcases this life lesson. In the story young Sarny, a slave, is taught to read and write by a fellow slave, John. She knows that as a slave that reading is dangerous. But she takes that chance, because she knows wisdom is sharper than any weapon.
The character Alexia made a significant change because of a critical moment in the novel Because of Mr. Terupt, by Rob Buyea. Before Alexia's major change, she was bossy, insecure, and a bully, who had no filter and was inconsiderate about her friend's feelings. One day Mr. Terupt took Alexia out into the hallway to scold her for being so mean and bossy towards her holiday group. As Mr. Terupt was scolding Lexi, she started crying and suddenly Mr. Terupt asserted, “I'm telling you the truth, and the truth can hurt,” (Buyea 90). For the first time ever Alexia hears what someone else actually thinks of her, and this makes her very upset.
Body Paragraph 1: Topic Sentence (1): Reb causes his daughters' failure in achieving their dream by marrying them off. Developing Sentences (3): Reb Smolinsky is a very traditional and religious man that does not want to leave his values from Poland, which signifies the way Reb keeps the values of choosing who his daughters marry. One of his ways of keeping these values from Poland is to find husbands for his daughters, which highlights that Reb is traditional. Reb does this even when the sisters find men to marry on their own, which demonstrates that he doesn't want to assimilate to the new world values. Introduction of Evidence (1): This causes the daughter's unhappiness because Reb disapproves of the men the sisters choose and finds
When Jordan Anderson’s faith was questioned, or when Rosa Parks was given the chance to prove herself as an equal to whites, a choice that determined everything had to be made. As Elie Wiesel, and Martin Luther King Jr. were persecuted because of an unjust cause, how did they decide to respond? And what draws the line between overconfidence and bravery? Jordan explained how he defended his faith, and Tavaana explained how Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr. did not stand down. In Elie Wiesel’s Nobel Peace Prize Acceptance Speech, he clarifies the extreme need for courage and bravery.
Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. Those who were not strong enough to be soldiers had been eradicated by this point. I guess I could argue that some of those who were left who eventually became soldiers weren’t exactly strong enough to cope as soldiers, or so it seemed. Back when we were training, they were even worse. Those who showed strength back then are much more stronger now.
The Healing Power of His Love “Forgive them, they know not what they do,” God whispered in Immaculee’s ear. Immaculee, a Tutsi Rwandan girl, was huddled in a incredibly tiny bathroom filled with seven other young ladies hiding from mass murderers trying to kill every Tutsi in the country. She struggled day and night trying to forgive the killers, but could only think of hatred for them until God said those words in her ear. She opened her heart to him and was saved by his loving mercy. Immaculee viewed being spared and being saved as different and through Immaculee’s story she showed me that we have to love and forgive others even if they have hurt us.
In “Born to Not Get Bullied” Nicholas Kristof discusses the increasing problem that Lady Gaga was facing at school base on being bullied. There have many young teenagers in school who would really call her horrible names in a very loud way in the front of a different races. During her teenage years, boys would repeat cruelty of peers to her and that was affecting her from coming in to school because she couldn't handle the world that were coming from other teens in school. For one thing, she couldn’t concentrate in class and image that she was a straight A student so that show she was really hurting inside. Another problem is that it is also very dangerous for students getting bullied because, that led to abuse alcohol, contemplate suicide and skip school.
To Aristotle courage was the greatest quality of the mind. He placed such high value on courage due to the high moral character it shows. However, just as powerful as the moral character is the mental urge to act on your conviction against social and moral adversity. In To Kill a Mockingbird, the courage of many characters is tested under different circumstances in the small town of Maycomb Alabama. All of these acts show moral and social courage.
Nobody likes him, but nobody is willing to stand up to him or help the victims. By ignoring the situation, the bully has no reason to stop bullying. It is the same concept just on a much grander scale. Elie Wiesel says, “...indifference is always the friend of the enemy, for it benefits the aggressor - never his victim, whose pain is magnified when he or she feels forgotten”(Weisel, 10). Indifference should be addressed so those who are in need won't feel alone and forgotten.
“He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life.” As said by Muhammad Ali, a professional American boxer and activist. Muhammad Ali needed courage to box just like characters from To Kill a Mockingbird By: Harper Lee. In To Kill a Mockingbird courage is shown by Jem, Scout, and Dill.

Bullying in Schools What seems fun and harmless for some students, is painful and degrading to others. Bullying has been a critical issue around schools, but before it was not as dangerous and know as it is now. These do not means bullying was not happening, it means it was not taken into consideration by parents or teachers. They thought it was just peer pressure or a kids game, and sooner or later the kids would be friends again. At one point, bullies think it’s normal to be mean and abusive to other students.
Historically, the most momentous turning point of bullying happened in the mid 1970’s where a research professor of psychology Dan Olweus, conducted an intensive
