I believe that Erykah Badu 's quote isn 't just limited to hip-hop, it 's relatable to all music. The reason why I feel this way is because music is something that connects us all. Even if the genres are different, it 's still music. It affects our everyday lives and is everywhere we go. It bonds humans together.
This infuriated Brown, causing an outburst of hostile phone calls toward the director of the social services agency. This resulted in Brown serving a short jail term. The murder occurring shortly after his release made Roy Brown a likely suspect. During trial, the prosecution depended solely on the confirmation of the bite mark examiner who had stated the seven bite marks on the victim's body were "entirely consistent" with Brown.

While being held captive Brown was being interrogated and he was taking friendly fire
It was very possible that he could have came back in retaliation for what had happened earlier that night. Brown was a part of the South Side Crips Gang, so it is obvious that if he did do it, he would have had help. He denied any involvement in Shakur’s death, and they couldn't charge him without evidence. Orlando was shot and killed from an unrelated matter a few years
James Browns great-great uncle, Oscar Gaines, experienced the unlawful system of convict leasing when he was younger. He was sentenced to work for some sort of crime he did (McBride 44). John Garraty describes Brown as so deranged “that rather than hang him for “dreadful act” …. It would have been far wiser and more just to have committed him to an asylum” (Davidson & Lytle, p. 154). Another historian, Allen Nevins, takes the middle ground on Brown and states, “all questions except for slavery, Brown would act coherently and rationally” (Davidson & Lytle, p. 154). A more contemporary biographer, Stephen Oates, in 1970, said Brown was ““not normal” that he had an excitable temperament and was obsessed with slavery” (Davidson & Lytle, p. 154). Brown had a history of actions against slavery, five months earlier before the raid on Harper’s Ferry, “Brown led a band of seven men (including four of his sons) in a midnight raid on some proslavery settlers at Pottawatomie Creek” (Davidson & Lytle, p. 156).
“Beauty is not defined by your physical features, it is defined by the heart inside your chest and the love that flows through it. ”- Imania Margia. This meaningful quote written by Imania Margia explains the true significance and message shown through both the short story “Barbie” written by Gary Soto and “Pretty Hurts” sang by Beyonce. The short story “Barbie” written by Gary Soto presents a young girl named Veronica who learned from a young age, that in order to be pretty, you must fit standards and stereotypes- Barbie stereotypes.
On September 11, 2001, tragedy struck the city of New York. On that fateful day, two airplanes were hijacked by terrorists and flew straight into the twin towers. Each tower fell completely to the ground, taking thousands of lives with it and injuring thousands more. Not only did that day leave thousands of families without their loved ones, it also left an entire city and an entire country to deal with the aftermath of the destruction. Poet, Nancy Mercado, worries that one day people will forget that heartbreaking day.
Hip-hop is an influential form of music that displays an artist’s honest and revealing story that many of the general public can relate to. One of the many songs that I can relate to is “Love Yourz” written by J Cole. The song talks about how Cole reflects on the most important things in life such as love and happiness. He realizes that the money and fame didn’t bring him the happiness he desired. To gain true happiness, he needed to appreciate himself and those that love him.

This song is widely covered by professional artists and cover singers up to today. When two identical lyrics are sung by two different singers, these are not identical lyrics anymore.
