Emily Giarrizzo Ms. McGinnity Honors English II 18 November 2015 The beauty of William Shakespeare does not lie his writing, but in the theme in which each of his plays suggest. The speech Marc Antony delivered has an immense impact on the minds of the citizens in Rome through the influence of devices, language, and details. While using a manipulative and powerful tone, he manages to sway a whole crowd while hiding his intentions of revenge and maintaining a neutral ground throughout the entirety of his monologue.
There are many books that reflects Shakespeare. Many authors look to him for guidance in their writings. “Shakespeare also provides a figure against whom writers can struggle, a source of texts against which other texts can bounce ideas. Writers find themselves engaged in a relationship with older writers; of course, that relationship plays itself out through the texts….” Foster, 26.
First and far most, I love Tyson Agricultural and Technical State University. This university and Rocky Bottom, Michigan has become my home. I love being apart of a HBCU. A lot of what I am today is because of Tyson. Tyson is more than just a school, it is a community of young black men and women learning and growing.
This commentary will be the focus point of using evidence in my lessons, encouraging students to make explicit connections to their claim. Students have also shown an ability to develop claims around character motivation, but have not had extensive practice identifying the way an author chooses to characterize central and secondary characters. This lesson segment plans to focus on developing the vocabulary to interpret how Shakespeare chooses to characterize Friar Lawrence and the Nurse or Mercutio, and support that interpretation with evidence and commentary from the
Shakespeare utilizes diction to reveal Thisbe’s character. Instead of saying
Ethos is when the author is a credible source for the writing. An example is in the first paragraph when it says (She delivered the speech "A Latina Judges View"). This one sentence shows that she is the only one giving the speech. Since Sonia is a Latina herself, she knows all the struggles she has to overcome.
In this paper, it is evident that William Shakespeare uses the literary devices of character, imagery and dialogue to convey a sense of overall dread and suspicion throughout the main characters, which in turn influences the way they act, as well as where they take the story. One of the many literary devices that William Shakespeare uses is that of character.
Shakespeare uses advanced language to convey his thoughts into the story, and does it in a way that leaves the reader with the impression that the writing done is truly significant and has a deeper meaning than at first glance. Shakespeare uses “language [that] is so dense, so rich. “I find myself quoting Shakespeare all the time’” (Tumiel). The language used in Shakespeare’s plays is so impactful that people use it often to express their thoughts.
Abstract Tempest was a thoughtful play that Shakespeare had written. This written response on The Tempest will explore several different forms of the dialogue that were utilize with the characters and the scenes. With the supported dialogue, the paper will show the political power between the characters also the character’s personality. Within the written response of The Tempest, it will showcase the love and magic among certain characters.

Shakespeare was a famous author and poet that wrote extremely well-known texts, such as “Romeo and Juliet” and “Hamlet.” Shakespeare lived during the Renaissance when art and science advanced and he was one of the major contributors to this historical period. “Shakespeare Influences the way we speak now” by Hephzibah Anderson, “William Shakespeare’s Impact on Theatre” by Octane, and “How Outrage Built Over a Shakespearean Depiction of Trump” by Sara Krulwich suggest that Shakespeare had a great influence on many aspects of society, such as the phrases we use, style of theater, and is a figure of inspiration to many people. Shakespeare has contributed to many well-known phrases that are still used to this day, showing his significance in history.
In the essay “Shakespeare Meets The 21st Century” (297), Michael Kahn believes that all renditions of Shakespeare’s plays are “interpretations” that reflect the approach to acting and producing at the time of production. In recent times the productions of Shakespeare’s plays have undergone changes to the manner of speaking to be more “conversational” while attempting to retain the rhythm and tone of the play. He explains that Shakespeare’s plays were themselves adapted from those of other playwrights. He marvels at the experience of those who originally witnessed and had no prior knowledge of Shakespeare’s plays must have had. In the twenty-first century, the plays of William Shakespeare may at first appear dated and irrelevant: they use archaic language, are set in the age of Kings and Queens, and the Kingdom of England. However, it would be plainly mistaken to construe that Shakespeare’s works do not still remain integral to a twenty-first century society. Shakespeare’s plays gave the words and expressions one uses every day, revolutionized the art of theater as it was known, and forewarned about issues that would unknowingly still apply centuries later. Therefore, Shakespeare has had a profound effect on our lives by enriching our language and culture, as well as providing ideas that would still apply five centuries later, and it would thus behoove us to learn from his works and life.
