With a twitch, I coughed, gasping for air. My whole body was wet, shivering, lying on the hard floor. To my right was the wooden trough resting on it’s side. It was empty now. All around me the cobblestone floor was wet.

As I stepped out onto the field, my gaze drifted upward. The sky was speckled with millions of tiny, glittering stars. We were so isolated out here that even the Milky Way was visible. I had never seen it in person before. That’s just one of those things that only happens at camp, the most magical place I know.
I feel it radiating into my blood, as my heart skips a beat. Soon, enlightened by a beating pair of wings effortlessly moving up and down, more fragile than the glass that once was sitting on the edge of the table.
