Ripples: A Short Story

199 Words1 Pages
The ground was dark, gloomy and grim; as it moved in ripples. I anxiously went flying free through the welcoming darkness. My eyes shot open before I crashed. I was breathing short, heavy breaths. I looked around, wide eyed, confused and lost. Ripples formed as I began to shake, the sweat was blending into the murky water as it never existed, the catchment becoming smaller as time went by. My screams of terror weren’t heard as the lethal chemicals attacked my fragile body. As I passed through the storage reservoir I was at content. Aggressively swirling through the main pipes, terrified towards the unknown of my distention. The journey came to an end; however the excruciating torment just began of the seeping of vibrant blue into my skin.
