Technology seems to touch the lives of everyone in one way or another. In fact, without technology, the RN-BSN program I completed from Chamberlain back in 2010 would have been impossible. Consequently, I probably would not have gone to graduate school and obtain my Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner degree. Thus, I would not be in this class, writing this very paper. It is amazing how many things are made possible because of system renovation technology.
When my clinical preceptor accepted the position of Operating Room (OR) Manager at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joe last year, there were 15 open Registered Nurse (RN) positions. It has been a continuous challenge to hire, train and maintain the nursing staff in the unit, especially with the six month training period that is required for this particular specialty. It has been a long process to fill these positions and although there are currently 19 RNs that work on the unit, there are still four open RN positions that remain vacant. This comes as a huge expense to the hospital as they are forced to use travel agency staff to fill these positions.
Taking the self assessment helped me to get to know my personality type and based on that personality type it matched me a job. The job it matched me was nursing which was the filled I want to get into. It showed me my strongest part and also it assured me that I am a visual learner. I would not know all this about myself if I did not take the self assessment.
I also had never considered the opportunities to further my career as a nurse. Although I have relatives who are nurse practitioners, I never realized that you can become one after becoming a nurse, I always assumed it was a separate degree path, as well as nurse anesthetists. I had previously only thought that BSN was the farthest that nursing could take me. Nursing is not just a career; it is a profession in which clients place their trust in the nurse to advocate for them. Nursing is also about creating a milieu that is comforting, actively listening to the client, involving the family in the plan of care, properly educating the client and family, proper medication administration, and proper aseptic technique when
The nurses face transitional barriers such as confusion and mix roles between RNs and ENs, conflict resolution, difficulty reconciling their academic and clinical competence. As discussed by Kaihlanen, Lakanmaa & Salminen (2013) its very common for new graduate nurse to fell insecure about their competence and ability to step into working life. As an Enrolled nurses we carry out basic care and assessment. Every hospital and healthcare setting have there own policies and guideline to follow and they have different roles for Enrolled nurse. ENs are suppose to work under the guidance of a registered nurse.
In studying Registered Nursing one will find that they have to be compassionate and want to care for others. Registered Nurses assist physicians with suffering patients of any medical condition. The MSN nursing program at the University of South Florida have taught me so much about diagnosing, treating, and managing comorbidities. My clinical experience with different receptors have reinforced my passion for caring for patients in outpatient settings. I would absolutely love this opportunity to provide primary care to your patient population to improve their overall health. I will focus on providing preventive care and other health care needs that will improve their quality of life. I will use an interdisciplinary approach by collaborating with my supervising MD and other resources as needed to provide comprehensive health care for each patient.
According to Ameritech (2016), “More eligible jobs with higher salary are an advantage of having a BSN. Having a BSN is required to hold a management, leadership or specialty position. Nurses with BSN are shown to have better critical thinking skills, lower mortality rates and quality nursing skills.” In addition, Ameritech (2016) states “BSN nurses are prized for their skills in critical thinking, leadership, case management, and health promotion, and for their ability to practice across
I agree with the key finding and recommendations for entry into practice as the baccalaureate level and the need for nurses to advance their education. According to the National League for Nursing (NLN, 2010), nurses need to advance their education due to the increasing complexity of treatments, medical therapies, technology, and chronic conditions every passing day (para. 10). In my opinion, a nurse should need to prepare for the expanding professional roles to fulfill current and future patient care. A BSN degree will allow nurses to advance into a leadership position. It can also function as a stepping stone throughout the nursing career.
The baccalaureate prepared nurse role is crucial in ensuring the successful implementation of quality management in healthcare. The major role of healthcare professionals such as nurses, doctors, and physicians is the delivery of high-quality patient care and safety. However, studies show that some factors that contribute to the low-quality patient care and safety include medical errors, adverse drug events, and negligence of health care providers. The baccalaureate prepared nurse has the responsibility of improving patient outcomes by taking part in quality management processes in the healthcare.

Curriculum Overview Aultman College has an ASN and a BSN curriculum that is designed to teach undergraduate students to become a nurse. The program can be completed in about four years and uses a traditional delivery curriculum. The program offers small class sizes and hands on classwork.
