Curriculum Overview
Aultman College has an ASN and a BSN curriculum that is designed to teach undergraduate students to become a nurse. The program can be completed in about four years and uses a traditional delivery curriculum. The program offers small class sizes and hands on classwork. Some of the basic classes are offered in an affiliated college and may also be called a delivery through partnership program (Iwasiw & Goldenberg, 2015). The students take classes such as chemistry at the affiliated college.
Why do we need nursing and nurse educators?
Nursing is a vital part of people’s lives whether they are sick or working on staying healthy. Nurses are often times caring and empathetic persons who enjoy taking care of a variety of patients (Eley, Eley, Bertello, & Rogers-Clark, 2012). The nurse educator thus has the responsibility of teaching students the foundations of nursing and sharing the values of a good nurse with these students. Nurse educators share their expertise and aim to produce effective, competent and capable learners (Gardner, 2014). Nurse educators thus are called upon to articulate and promote a vision for nursing, embrace a values of higher education, function as a steward of organization within nursing education, and develop lifelong professional relationships (Patterson & Krouse, 2015).Nursing education can be a rewarding profession.
