Experiment #116 The beast’s heart thumped against his chest, feeling like it would burst through any second. His breathing caught, then quickened to a rapid pant. His eyes snapped open. The bright lights burned his eyes, blinding him, as unfamiliar noises, the sounds of strange animals, flooded him from all sides. He realized they were attempting to communicate, but whether with him or each other, he didn’t know. As he lay on the smooth, icy sheet of rock, he found himself unable to move anything other than his eyes, which darted from place to place aimlessly. By now, he could vaguely make out the figures which crowded around him: large, hairless creatures, draped in white. They all stood on two hind legs, precariously balanced. In their hands, they held foreign objects, odd tools he had never seen before. He felt extremely afraid. He tried to crawl away, but his legs refused to move. He laid that way, paralyzed, for what seemed like an eternity, his body contorted in an unnatural position. But he found himself unable to stop. His fangs pierced the flesh, and he felt them sink in as he pulled his head back. As he pulled, bits of flesh were torn off, forcibly separated from the bone. Tufts of fur entered his mouth, tickling his throat. It only made him pull harder. Soon, his jaw and tail were soaked with blood. He bit down again, and whipped his head back with every ounce of strength he could muster. The flesh came with him. The sound of tearing flesh was nothing compared to the shrill scrape of teeth against bone. This time, muscle, bone, fur, and metal all came with his head as it snapped back.
