The battered Chevrolet pulled into the driveway fifteen minutes after three and as soon as the wheels stopped spinning two children and their dog hopped out and ran towards the fields. The oldest of the two kids shouted to their dog “Come on Cooper look at all this room to run boy !” the dog scurried to his owners side waiting for the command so he would be able to explore. Finally, it came “ Go on Cooper go explore.” He took off towards the woods but something like a forcefield stopped him. An old oak tree, no leaves only skinny brown branches reaching out towards him. The sun began to set and it got cold fast, Cooper began to yawn and shiver, and before he fell asleep a small figure appeared in the tree line, and it seemed to be coming closer. Coopers maimed body was found the next day, it was Dominique who found him, his heart stopped cold when he saw the battered dog look up at him. The screams echoed through the forest as the dog slowly slipped back into sleep. The vet could do very little but give Cooper antibiotics and stitches. The vet explained that no animal could have caused as much harm as Cooper had received. “ What Im saying Miss Ross is your dog was not attacked by another animal, this was damage caused by something human.” For the next few days Cooper was recuperating in his crate by the stone fireplace in the new living room of the new house. It took three weeks before Cooper was fully healed, but his stitches still couldn't be removed.
