In the article "Don’t blame the eater" written by Zinczenko, he argues that fast food is the main reason why so many teenagers are suffering from obesity in United States. He explains that many companies will use advertisements to deceive customers. For example, a company’s website offers a chicken salad with less than four hundred calories per serving; however, they don’t label everything that the salad has In the first label. They will use separate labels in the products that the salad has on it, so the costumer gets confused and thinks that he is actually eating a four hundred calories salad that is "healthy". However, he is actually eating a seven or more hundred calories meal.

The Iroquois theater fire in 1902 in Chicago had taken more than 605 lives, with the Cocoanut fire taking 492 lives.

“The Way Home” is a veterans memorial monument sculpted by Edd Hayes, and it is located in The Woodlands, Texas, in Town Green Park. This honorable monument is dedicated to all active duty and veterans of all military branches and conflicts. It allows individuals to honor family and friends who served in the Armed Forces. The monument is modeled after Zach R. Endsley, and Cory C. Kosters. Two young men who were residents of The Woodlands area and gave their lives in defense of freedom, while serving in the middle East in 2007.
Camp Harmony, written by Monica Shone, tells a story about her life in an internment camp. During World War ll, Japanese Americans had to move into internment camps, they had no choice. The camp that Shone moved into was called Camp Harmony and it was ironic how the name wasn't even close to how the camp really was. "Our home was one room, about eighteen by twenty feet, the size of a living room." (Shone 320)
Toronto at Dreamer’s Rock is a magical story showcasing the past, present, and future of Canadian First Nations people from Rusty, a teenager's perspective. The author Drew Hayden Taylor shows how quickly and drastically someone's life can change based on experiences and people who come into their lives. Rusty at first isn’t confident as a First Nations boy and has little care about his culture, but later on, is taught the importance of it which leads him to try to make his dreams of becoming Grand Chief a reality. Rusty learns that getting a proper education will help him achieve his goals, which changes his negative opinion of school. Rusty starts off with low self-esteem and looks down on himself and his culture.
I believe the difficult journey for immigrants and all they had to do to start over in a new country was worth the hardships they faced. The book “Since You’ve Been Gone” by Morgan Matson is about a girl named Emily Hughes and her adventure to find her best friend, Sloane, who disappeared out of nowhere one day. Before Emily can think anything of it, she gets a list of things, from Sloane, to do over the summer. So Emily sets off on an adventure to find her friend, with the help of a few unexpected people along the way. The list that Sloane gives Emily contains things that Sloane knows that Emily would never do.
The Power Behind “Just Walk on By” In Brent Staples article “Just Walk on By”, Staples shares his thoughts on the way marginalized groups interact. He uses his own experiences as a young African American man to shed light on how people can have implied biases that affect the way they treat other people. Staples does this to demonstrate how society develops preconceived notions in the minds of individuals about marginalized groups, primarily African American men, which are often a flawed representation of the people within these groups. The rhetoric he uses is key to developing an understanding persona and an emotional appeal that exposes the implied biases of people without alienating or offending the audience, to whom-- among others-- he attributes these biases.

Briana Scurry was the goalie for the United States Women's National Team from 1994-2008. She played in four World Cups and three Olympics, winning the World Cup in 1999 and Olympic gold medals in 1996 and 2004. Scurry is the first African American woman inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame in 2017. Her autobiography "My Greatest Save" talks about her experiences as the keeper of such an influential team. She talks about her professional career and how the concussion she sustained during that time changed her life and put her through many challenges that changed her life.

The beauty industry capitalizes on women every day by promoting products that give the illusion of flawless skin, longer eyelashes, longer hair, bigger bra size, and slimming waist line. Many people can be deceived by others because they are not who they portray to be. In Flannery O’Connor’s short story “Good Country people” the author vividly describes a character that has a false sense of reality through intelligence, deception and unbelief. Hugla, the protagonist has a false misinterpretation of her intelligence.
The author Alex Flinn, mostly creates an accurate and unbiased view of the topic in the following way(s), by showing how domestic abuse has hurt many people with the cycle of abuse, types of abusers(Mario), and different views of abuse (Journal to Narrator), but fails to accurately portray different types of abuse in the following way(s) by showing how the Dolphins are a big impact on Nick’s life and why it changed the way he realized he was hurting Caitlyn verbally and physically. In many ways there are many children that had grown up with being abused either mostly verbally or physically. People come and go in life, but eventually, everyone will find the one that stays and makes them happy. The country song “Sun to Me,” by Zach Bryan is about a speaker who has found someone that brings out the best in them, and makes them a happier person. In the first stanza, the writer introduces that the speaker has found someone that is like the sun to them and brings out the best in them. In the second stanza through the rest of the poem, the speaker continues to emphasize how important the person that he found was to them, and how they make the speaker a better person. In “Sun to Me,” Zach Bryan uses alliteration and metaphors to teach listeners that having someone that brings out the best in them is very beneficial, and everyone can find someone as long as they look hard enough.
