Since the start of the Cold War, people have been afraid from a bomb like no other in history. Nuclear warfare struck lives of many every since the end of World War II which ended by a atom bomb dropped on Japan wiping out everything in its path. Cormac Mccarthy was a passionate writer and was inspired and terrified by this idea and wrote the Marvelous story The Road. Even though some might disagree with the powerful reality of a possible post apocalyptic hazard.
In everyday life, there are so many people worth to love and worth for giving them much affection. But have you ever thought, who is your dearest? For everyone, the answer may be grandparents, mothers, siblings or friends. For the boy in McCarthy's novel,"The Road", his father's image will forever be the sacred fire that warms his soul forever. "The Road" written by McCarthy not only about the relationship between a father and his son but also about the contradiction in itself every human.
The “Road Not Taken” and Sotomayor had a connection of making a decision between different roads to take. They are a little different because in the poem the narrator had to make a decision about two yellow roads and for Sotomayor she had the decision of taking the road of growing up for her dream job. The roads that were available to Sotomayor were about the job she wanted when she grows up but the only problem is she had a decision between to try and become what she wanted to be or grow up to be something else. She looks back at her choices and maybe always thinks that the decision she made she won’t change her mind. The man decides not to help them and to only stay with his son. The man is right in not helping them for multiple reasons. First, he can not trust them, in this post apocalyptic world they cannot trust anyone because they might turn out to be cannibals.
Robert Frost is a well known and experienced poet. He was born March 26, 1874 and died January 29, 1963. Robert started writing poetry in high school His first published poem, My Butterfly:an Elegy” was published on November 8, 1894. Robert wrote poetry up to the end of his life. He last published “The Clearing” a collection of poems, including the poem he recited for JFK’s inauguration, in 1962, less than a year before he died.
Often in life, people read literature that speaks to them on a spiritual level, to the point they can relate it to their personal life. This is definitely the case with me, throughout my short life I have read tons and tons of literature, good to bad, short to long, slow to fast. It seems as though poems, are the most abstract form of literature, given that, they are excellent pieces of work that have meanings that are meant to connect to the reader, on many different levels. Two very special works of literature, “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost and “Dreams” by Langston Hughes seem to connect with me better than others, I feel that I can apply the meanings of these poems to my personal life on a spiritual, logical, and emotional level.
By the end of the poem, we have learned that the difficulty of choices is that sometimes you really have to let fate take the lead. The use of symbolism with the paths shows that it doesn’t matter which side has been taken more but which is the best one for you. Frost’s use of a metaphor and symbolism helps us clearly understand the meaning of the poem and what he is really trying to say. “The Road Not Taken” is a poem in which we learn that sometimes we have to let fate take the lead. During a poetry unit, many high school students have read the words, “Two roads diverged in a yellow wood.” These are the opening lines to “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost, a famous poem included in his collection Mountain Interval. The poem starts with the narrator walking in the woods and seeing two roads split from each other. He has to decide which road to take since this decision will forever shape him as a person. The poem The Road Not Taken has been misinterpreted in many ways. For started the poem is about a person whom was walking down a yellow brick road. While the person is walking down the road he or she notice a split between the road leading through two different path. The person decided to make a choice by looking as far as he or she could through both road and chooses the one that was less traveled by.
The poem ‘The Road Not Taken’ by Robert Frost was about a decision. Two inviting roads existed in front of the speaker, but he could only choose one to travel in the rest of his life. No one knew which road was better or what’s waiting for him in the future, there seemed plenty of imaginary spaces left to the audiences. However, instead of focused on the importance of his finally choice: the road taken, more attentions was given to the given up choice: the road not taken. The writer’s opinion was explicitly showed in the title ‘The Road Not Taken’; which meant from the very beginning it was a poem about lost, not gain.
