Food Inc., a documentary directed by Robert Kenner, shows you the real truth behind what Americans assume is healthy about their food. It comes to show how the food industry can be very inhumane. They treat the farmers awful, fill the animals with chemicals that makes them grow twice their size, and the workers work in poor conditions. Capitalism can be seen throughout this documentary taken to the extreme. Along with capitalism, abuse is also one of the key aspects shown throughout the film. Lastly, it shows how the food industry can be very misleading when it comes to advertising their products; they try to hide the truth with all of the lies they are putting out.
Free market would be the best way to describe the food companies; they work based on what the consumer wants and what they prefer more. The consumers know that is bad for them, but they still get it. Another key aspect shown is the amount of abuse that is taken place inside of the factories. majority of the abuse is on the animals that are owned by the companies; they are fed with food that they can’t digest properly, they are farmed in a factory instead of being out in the open, and they are injecting their poultry production with growth hormones and antibiotics making them grow twice their size. Not only are the animals being abused but so are the workers; mainly the undocumented workers. They work for these very rich companies, such as for extremely low wages, and in return, they are deported back their country. Showing just how ruthless they can
