“A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” is a comedy written by shakespear around 1594 or 95. It tells the story of four young lovers whos love life is like an emotional roller coaster, a group of Merchants who want to become famous actors, Woodland Fairies who's help doesn't really help at all, and A king who is really excited to marry his Queen. The play is set in a mythical Athens and forest that the Fairy-Folk call home. All of the characters have their own moments in the play and are important in their own way, but the two that people can remember by heart are Robin Goodfellow (Puck) and Nick Bottom. Puck is probably the play’s most adorable character and stands out from the other fairies that drift in and out of the play. Puck is not as boring as the play’s other fairies, he is exciting, prone to misadventure and somewhat goblin-like. One of the fairies describes Puck as a “hobgoblin” and As his “hobgoblin” reputation suggests, Puck is fun-loving and quick-witted – and thanks to this mischievous nature, he triggers many of the play’s most memorable events. Both Puck and Bottom give a serious comic relief to this somewhat serious story and is a comedian in his own way. Puck's comedy is often at the expense of others, while Bottom's comedy is fueled by his ignorance, it's like almost everything he does is considered hilarious by the audience because of his constant mixing of words, lack of talent, and overly enthusiastic personality. Not only are they good comedic relief, but they have more of an importance to the play because are the only two characters who interact with and progress the three central stories in the whole
