To quote Christopher Reeves, the actor who plays the role of Superman in the 1978 film Superman, “A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.” But what does it truly take to deserve the title of a hero? To be a hero you need to be selfless, have integrity, and be loving. This is why I believe Jesus Christ was such an important hero for not just me, but many people throughout the world. He went through many hardships to save numerous people, always was a man of integrity , and healed as well as cared for countless individuals who were sick and helpless.

Being selfless is an understatement when talking about Jesus. His whole purpose was to save others. He didn't have to do it, he didn't have to come down and suffer for others, but he did it because he loves us. According to the dictionary the definition of integrity is; the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles and moral uprightness. Jesus was just that, after getting baptized by John the baptist, Jesus was led to the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. The devil tried to bribe Jesus with all the riches of the world, but even at his most vulnerable point, Jesus refused and rebuked the devil. This is a very good example that jesus had good morals and was trustworthy. Another example about how jesus had integrity was when he was arrested by the temple guards of sanhedrin, one of his disciples named Peter tried to stop them by pulling out a sword and cutting one of the guards ears off. Peter was prepared to fight and kill the guards arresting jesus, but instead jesus told him to stop and put away his sword. He may have been tempted, just for a moment, to let Peter hack some guys to pieces, but he knew that murder was a sin and he did not allow
