“Free at last, Free at last, Thank God almighty we are free at last.” In the play Teen Freedom Fighters many people are there to peacefully protest for the black people to be able to vote. When the start on the first day they go and get stopped by the police and they would not thet them go on. Even tho they got stopped the shown a tremendous amount of courage because after “Bloody Sunday” they went out again to stand up because they wanted equality. Courage is standing up for yourself and others, knowing that you can get it or you can’t. In the novel, Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry there are several characters who have demonstrated an enormous amount of courage. He and his brothers, sister. They would make a gully and fill it with water so it would fill up so when the bus would speed up the bus would get stuck in the gully, this was their form of revenge towards the white kids and bus driver. Little Man would always complain that his clothes would get dirty and muddy when they would get splashed., he also showed courage when TJ had came over after when he went to the Barnett Mercantile with the Simms boys. Stacey had helped TJ go back to his house before his dad found out and he got in trouble. Another character that showed a tremendous amount of courage is Cassie. She stood up for herself when they went to Strawberry. When In chapter 5 Big Ma went into Mr. Jameson's office the kids went to the Barnett Mercantile, Mr. Barnett started to help them when they asked for help but then he went over to help a white person that did not ask for help, she asked why and he said just get your little black self out of my store, but she did not until Stacey had gotten her out. Cassie did not know why that he left them to go help a white folk, she did not understand why a white person was better than a colored person. THe last person that showed courage is Little Man.
