Roman civilization is said to go as far back as 625 BC and continued throughout history as a strong territory. Early Rome was ran by kings. This lasted until the king that went by the name of Tarquin was overthrown by the people of the city. The Roman Nobility took over power and were called the Senate. Rome was now known as a Republic and would remain until a man by the name of Julius Caesar came to power in 60 BC.
Ancient Rome DBQ Many people argue that the culture of the Ancient Romans reflect that of the United States today. While there have been many advancements over the course of the years, a few basic principles still apply and can be seen in the United States today. Although there a few key differences that can be seen between the two cultures, it is important that one focuses on similarities to see how the United States has developed as a whole. Crassus, Pompey, and Julius Caesar. Three individuals that helped change Rome from Republic to Empire and had some of the biggest impacts on Rome. They were three of the most powerful leaders, and when their power and forces combined, the First Triumvirate started. Going from Republic to Empire, Rome went through many changes starting from individual influences, cultural and group influences, to taking on a whole new religion. “A triumvirate is a government by three people, all with equal power” (McGraw Hill 135).
Caesar Augustus: Caesar Augustus, or earlier known as Octavian, was a military commander who later became the emperor of the Roman Empire. His reign lasted from 27 B.C.E. to 14 C.E. His title, Caesar Augustus, implied that he was a ruler with godlike qualities. This marked the end of republics in Rome and the rise of the empire. Augustus was a humble ruler, and seeked to preserve republic values, by refraining from calling himself an emperor, or king. His rule began the Pax Romana, or the era of great peace in the Roman Empire.
Intellectual/ Artistic The creation of the Roman Calendar made them more advanced because other empires did not create a such a progressive way to keep track of the days and months. The creation of aqueducts allowed them to become more advanced because it carried water throughout the empire. They both created roads that allow them to trade and become immersed with cultural and intellectual influences.

Tiberius Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus People have ruled the Earth for centuries, each notable for their accomplishments or corruption. There have been recorded leaders for civilizations many people have never heard of, except ancient cities like China, Greece, Rome, etc. Rome, being one of the renowned cities, had some great leaders and was popularly known for their exceptional armies and even greater leaders. One of these leaders was Tiberius Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus, or Claudius, who was a great leader for what he achieved.
Of those great leaders of the Roman Republic was none other than Cincinnatus. Cincinnatus is a well known leader from that era and in fact the root of his name is in the city of Cincinnati. He was not only a famous political leader,he was a philosopher that showed deep content for his people. Originally he was born in a very rich palace home where they were called the alkimia where he was raised and taught to be an aristocrat but then his family lost the farm and became farmers. The Roman Empire was, (and still is) considered to be one of the greatest powers in history. It was an Empire of great success, not only economically but politically. With an army that had successfully conquered many other Empires and that had precise military techniques, they were feared by many.
