Also, their activities weren´t the same but not completely different. Therefore, Rome was like the U.S today because of government, and somewhat of activities. Roman government was very similar to the U.S in different ways.
America is very similar to Ancient Rome, but there are several differences. For example, the Roman Empire "fell" and America is still “standing”. Before ancient Rome “fell”, Rome started out as a small settlement of farmers on the Palatine hill. About one hundred years later, Rome became a republic. The Roman Empire started when Pax Romana or Roman peace began in 27 BCE under the rule of Augustus Caesar.
Ancient Rome DBQ Many people argue that the culture of the Ancient Romans reflect that of the United States today. While there have been many advancements over the course of the years, a few basic principles still apply and can be seen in the United States today. Although there a few key differences that can be seen between the two cultures, it is important that one focuses on similarities to see how the United States has developed as a whole. Many Americans today many not be the most familiar with ancient Greek and Roman history but our founding fathers certainly were and in “their quest to match the deeds of the ancients the founders became our heros… [t]he founders drove the ancients from their pedestals and occupied their places” (ix). Carl J. Richard seeks to highlight the influence the ancients had on our founders. I believe that Richard is very effective in accomplishing his goal of demonstrating what lessons the founding fathers learned from the greeks and the romans as well as how those ideas shaped the foundations of the American government. He accomplished this through his use of clear and specific examples throughout greek and roman history and he showcases direct connections
Even with all the technologies that America attains, they can still be compared to Rome. Cullen Murphy’s question is fair more so on the fact that previous American leaders used “republican political models” and the examples he used for America becoming a “principate”. There has been controversies over “personal freedom” and the government keeping secrets. I like how he brought up how Rome was “overwhelmed by the consequences of its own growing size and might”. America grown tremendously, not to mention their power.
Rome Impact On Today's U.S. There are many reasons on why Rome or Greece is better than the other in the categories of math, technology and even the military, But that's not the point I’m trying to get across I'm writing about how much of an impact these countries have made in modern day, here are my reasons why Rome has overcome that aspect. I think that the country of Rome has made a bigger impact on the U.S. today because of their military, leaders and also their technology was also more advanced than other countries. There are many reasons why Rome has made more of an impact on the US today ,the first reason would be because of their more advanced military, how well their leaders led their army and military during that time of war , that

Gabriel Song Midterm The development of science, technology, and medicine played a crucial role in European imperialism during the 19th century. European empires used STM advancements to help with their imperialistic endeavors, and imperialism itself was the catalyst for many scientific, technological, and medical developments/advancements. STM developments not only led to imperialism, but imperialism also led to STM developments, like stated just previously. In chapter 5 of Daniel Headrick’s book, Power Over Peoples, Headrick posits that European imperialism was caused by their desire for economic gain, and STM advancements played a huge role in acquiring this goal.

Loss of patriotism is one thing that America has in common with Rome. When Rome was falling, patriotism decreased tremendously. There was no sense of pride. Citizens did not fight as hard, overthrew empires, and would cheat taxes. The same thing is happening in America today.

These traditions and cultures are displayed throughout our government, education, art, architect, cultural activities, and many other things. Their ideas have inspired over 25 centuries, growing and changing over time, and still remain in our modern civilization.
