Romeo and Juliet Essay Final Draft

A tragedy is a genre of drama that shows many occurrences of suffering in the character of the story. The play “Romeo and Juliet” can be considered a tragedy simply because of how it is followed by many series of unfortunate events that occur one after another.Now who is the most responsible for these tragedies? They are Romeo, Juliet and Friar Lawerence, all three of them made extremely foolish decisions.

The first the balme in this play would be Romeo. Romeo is someone that would foolishly fall in love within minutes of meeting someone. He is the only son of the Montague’s. Romeo is one of the main characters that can be blamed because of his impulsive actions and foolish, quick ideas. In act II, scene ii, Romeo states, “But soft, what light through yonder window breaks? It is the east and Juliet is the sun (Shakespeare 79)”. This line was said on the same day he just met Juliet. He believes Juliet is as important as the sun, she is the center of the universe to him just within a day of meeting. Since she was born into an aristocratic family, she doesn’t have much freedom. Juliet followed silly commands from Friar Lawernce that caused many issues, and she is extremely foolish believing the plans were going to work out. During the balcony scene, in Act II, scene ii, Juliet stated, “And all my fortunes at thy foot I’ll lay and follow thee my lord throughout the world. (Shakespeare 81).” Juliet basically stated that is willing to give up everything and anything for Romeo, this recklessness she shows is a huge cuse of the unfortunate events within the
