Romeo and Juliet, the star crossed lovers, whose love was always destined for death. The type of love that Romeo and Juliet had for each other was very passionate and intense. When Romeo and Juliet locked eyes with each other at the Capulet ball, they both fell in love at first sight. Surprisingly, the tragic story of Romeo and Juliet occurred in just five days. In this article, we are focusing on Romeo and Juliet’s love, specifically their intense infatuation that originated at first sight. Their immediate love was an overpowering force that overruled all other values, loyalties, beliefs, and passions. The two young lovers were determined to confront their families and their social structures. On their second meeting, it was discovered from the Nurse that Juliet believed that herself and Romeo’s names were their enemies. She states, “‘Tis but thy name that is my enemy. Thou art thyself, though not a Montague.” Juliet also suggested that Romeo should have denied his father and gave up his name.
