Fatal Flaws Write a Fate to Failure Nobody is perfect. Everybody has their own special flaw whether it be mental, physical, emotional, or part of their personality. However some character flaws can definitely cause more harm than others. Some flaws can affect just that person's life and others can go out of control and ruin the lives of many others. Most of the characters from the play Romeo and Juliet have a fatal flaw that leads to the death of another character. Mercutio’s arrogance led him to die in a fight with Tybat, Tybalt’s anger led him to die in a sword fight with Romeo and Romeo’s impulsiveness led him to die next to Juliet in her tomb. Tybalt had originally wanted to fight Romeo for sneaking into the Capulet’s party, however because Romeo did not want to fight Mercutio drew his sword and challenged Tybalt to a fight. Mercutio said “Good King of Cats, nothing but one of your nine lives…dry-beat the rest of the eight.”(3.1.73-75.) If Mercutio wasn’t so egoistic he would not have taken offense to what Tybalt said he wouldn't have fought and instead walked away. If he walked away he would not have died. If he had not died then Tybalt would not have been a part of the fight that had Romeo
