Romeo and Juliet is a great love story and a great tragedy written by William Shakespeare. Romeo is a fourteen-year-old boy who claims to be in love with Juliet, the daughter of their enemy. Romeo is a Montague and Juliet is a Capulet; and the feud their families have play a great part in this play. How would a family react if their only son fell in love with the daughter of a family they hate the most. Although, Romeo is not in love with Juliet, he is attracted to her but not in love with her, big difference.
Romeo constantly says he is in love with Juliet; but, he fell in love with her looks and it only took him about a second to do so. In the book, Romeo says, “One fairer than my love,” (193). He said that when talking about Juliet;

The book states, “ ...bring thee cords made like a tackled stair, which to the high topgallant of my joy must be my convoy in the secret night,” (222). Romeo did state before that he wanted to take Rosaline’s maidenhead but she declined; now, he has Juliet to do that with. It seems that way because he says it is the highest point of his joy. Then, in the article it says, “Romeo expresses to Friar Lawrence, that unlike Rosaline, Juliet returns his love, that being one of the reasons he loves her,” (Urena). Romeo only loves Juliet because she is the only girl that is willing to show him affection, that is absolutely not true love.
Even though they were happy, their love wouldn’t have lasted very long. In an article it states, “...even couples who are blissfully happy together can 't count on a happy ending,” (Trees). This means that even though Romeo and Juliet were happy, didn’t mean they were going to last, after all they are only fourteen. Also, they didn’t know each other very well so they didn’t have true love. In the same article the author says, “...love has climbed to No. 1, accompanied by a rise in the importance of looks, which suggests that our romance with romance is long on style and short on substance,”
