Plot-I said before that movie follow the play’s main plot sequence, but there are many minor changes which disrupt original movie intent that following main plot sequence is almost useless in its purpose. Since the movie follows the play, it is more like what was different rather than what was left out from the play. For example Bottom is humiliated by a group of nasty young men pouring wine over him, and that doesn’t seem like who Bottom should be as a complicated character in Shakespeare’s play. So in a way, what director chose to leave out is what original “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” supposes to mean in the end. That is why pretty much most of the play was changed in the movie as the atmosphere of the original play is gone.
Romeo then goes to Juliet house party; they end up falling in love that night. While some differences between the movie and play are weapons,when Romeo sneaks out and when Juliet wakes up before romeo dies. The similarities are how Mercutio dies in both the play and movie. In Romeo and Juliet the two different families didn’t get along. In the movie it can make it more action packed when using guns in a fight.
In The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet,Romeo and Juliet were two very similar people by the way they acted to even the way their families acted. They both get treated the same way by their parents, they both were not honest, and even their families acted the same way. Both, Romeo and Juliet got treated the same way by their parents. Juliet’s dad, Lord Capulet was going to let Juliet have some say in who she married. He became very hard on her and gave her no choice but to marry Paris once he found out about Rome.
Romeo and Juliet: Play vs. Movie One difference in the movie that is immediately apparent is the time period. The play Romeo and Juliet, was set in the 1400s therefore it contained more old and ancient items. The movie was set in 1996 so newer and modern items were used.
The movie and play contain many similarities; however, there are differences, as well. In the movie, the language is more comprehensible, and the film excludes some lines from the play. Along with this, the movie replaces some characters from particular scenes. For example instead of the movie utilizing Balthasar to deliver the news of Juliet's "death", Benvolio is the character that delivers the update to Romeo. The movie and play also differ in speed and scene placement.
“For never was a story of more woe than this of Juliet and her Romeo.”, is a line that was very important to the history of literature. It tells of the inevitable fate of two star-crossed lovers that were bound to death because of each other. There have been many movies and plays preformed with this story line, but two in particular are the Baz Luhrmann film and the original play’s text. Both the Baz Luhrmann film and William Shakespeare’s play of Romeo and Juliet may be compared by focusing on the following scenes: the party scene, balcony scene, fight and death scene of Tybalt and Mercutio, and the suicide scene.
The setting of the movie is the first obvious difference that can be seen. The movie was set in New York City, New York in 2000 while the play was set in Elsinore, Denmark in the late middle ages. This greatly affects the way the movie is viewed because it is essentially an entirely different world. In the movie there are video cameras, cars, phones and skyscrapers, all things that obviously weren’t around during Shakespeare’s time. Even if the movie and the play had been based in the same year, the story still would have been slightly different.
Romeo and Juliet Compare and Contrast Although Romeo and Juliet grew up in two different households meant to hate each other from the day of their birth, these two star crossed lovers find each other in a different light. In the play The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet By William Shakespeare, Romeo being a Montague and Juliet being a Capulet were born into this family feud. The two of them fall in love at a party where Romeo was out looking for the original girl he was in love with, Rosaline, and Juliet was there to meet her future husband Paris. With love playing a huge part in this play, it's concluded that Romeo and Juliet are both a Eros kind of lover.

Discuss this in the light of the film “William Shakespeare”? Romeo and Juliet co-written and directed by Baz Luhram with Shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet.
In my variant of the play Romeo and Juliet, I had decided to keep many elements of the original play the same, including the tragic ending. This means my comic is aimed at a preteen audience of around twelve to thirteen-year-olds. Attempting to stay on track with the original storyline, the characters’ names, family relations, and means of death were kept the same or very similar to the play. Although many aspects of the rendition may ring true with the original script, I took the creative liberty to tweak the storyline. The setting takes place in Verona, as did the Shakespeare version of Romeo and Juliet.
In the play Juliet was very obedient, and mild-mannered. In Romeo and/or Juliet, Juliet was very outgoing, disobeyed her mother, and never met Romeo. In the play she instantly fell for Romeo, but in the book she fell in love with a guy named Orlando, who was bad at poetry. In the play she seems kind of pampered and thin, but in Romeo and/or Juliet she was very buff and ripped. She really enjoyed working out and lifting weights.
When I was younger, I was probably too sensitive about the tragedy and could never conceive why people would enjoy Romeo and Juliet. Now that I can handle it as an adult, I enjoyed the comedic bits scattered throughout the melodrama. For example, one of my favorite lines in the play was Juliet’s statement, “You kiss by the book.” Maybe I have a weird sense of humor, but it seemed like an absurd thing to say after being kissed by the man of your dreams. Along with this, I amused by the “Do you bite your thumb at me” exchange and “Your love says, like an honest gentleman--Where is your mother?”
If I was tasked with making a musical I would choose to make one based on the story of Romeo and Juliet. I chose this story because of the vast amounts of emotion and conflict that takes place throughout the story. The combination of love, betrayal, hate, and death would transition well into song and dance and make for a great show. I would represent the relationship between Romeo and Juliet with a slower, more sensual themed choice of music like smooth jazz. The style of dance would also reflect this intimate relationship.
As a product for the intertextuality assignment for the play, Romeo and Juliet, I decided to make a film parody of the play, in the theme of Star Wars, with my group consisting of Anda, Teo and myself. In addition, my group and I also wrote our own version of the play 's script for the key scenes, however we still used some fundamental quotes from the original, Romeo and Juliet play. The film reenacts the main, and most important scenes of Romeo and Juliet, but includes obvious Star Wars traits in the clips, and throughout the editing such as: using the common weapons, briefly following the dress code, and applying key quotes from Star Wars to the script, and to the lines of the acting in the film as well, obviously. We did this in order to keep the film reasonably similar to the actual script, and for the plot to remain similar.
A book shows an imaginary world to a reader and gives a reader a platform to create an imaginary world out the story on a book. William Shakespeare 's greatest love story truly touches its readers heart by the way whole story is structured. The book is written in the way the it flows in the unprecedented scenes that it creates in the readers mind and the piteous end of the true lovers are the elements that made it the greatest love story ever told. Furthermore, this extraordinary story of a true love written in a book has been filmed which suited with then the time and generation.
