In every Shakespeare play there is always tragic hero. In the play Romeo and Juliet, Romeo is a tragic hero that sacrifices his life for his love for Juliet.
Romeo is a tragic hero in my eyes because his family is very wealthy and has a high status. His downfall was mostly his fault. Lastly the fall of Romeo and Juliet was not pure loss because the feud between the families ended.

First of all, Romeo is being a tragic hero because his downfall was mostly his own fault. In the play when Romeo’s cousin Benvolio tells Romeo that Juliet is dead he goes to a apothecary to get poison. “A dram of poison, such soon speeding gear. “Well Juliet I will lie with thee tonight.” (VI 35) This quote is another reason why Romeo’s downfall was mostly his fault because he loves Juliet so much he die so he can be with her. Romeo is too quick to act upon misfortunate events, so much that he’s willing to bring death upon himself.

Secondly, Romeo comes from a wealthy family and has a high status. This is another reason why he is a tragic hero. When Romeo and Juliet both die, Lord Capulet and Lord Montague are no longer fighting and they make peace. “For I will raise her statue in pure gold. (V III 299)
Lord Montague says this to Lord capulet in respect of his daughter died. This explains how the Montague’s are very wealthy because not everyone can just make a statue of gold back then and now a days. In the play Lord Capulet is hosting a party In these day that is a big deal only the people with big houses had big party’s “My House and welcome on their pleasure to stay. ( I II 37) that quote is said by Lord capulet and I can relate this to the montagues because their like the Capulets and they didn’t have party’s in the play but I would imagine that they would. As they are very wealthy like the Capulets. The wealth of Romeo’s family is proof that he’s a tragic hero, being that most people of fortune are not as quick to act
