Who is to Blame? Many people ask when reading Romeo and Juliet, “Who is to blame for all these deaths?”, but they never realize that maybe one of the main characters is to blame. Throughout Romeo and Juliet, you can blame many people for the deaths. I am going to explain why one of the main characters should be to blamed. Romeo is the one to blame for the deaths of his love, Juliet, himself, and many others because of his quick rash decisions, killing Tybalt, and buying poison from the apothecary. In the play Romeo makes quick and rash decisions and those decisions lead to the deaths in the play. Romeo goes to a party at the Capulets in the beginning of the play. He knew that the party is being hosted by his family’s enemy, but he still went to the party. At the party, he met Juliet and quickly fell in love with her. Then, just a day after he met Juliet, without thinking how it will affect their lives, he married to a Capulet and she married to a Montegue. After that it all went downhill. Romeo says, “On the fair daughter of rich Capulet./ As mine on hers, so hers is set on mine,/ And all combined, save what thou must combine”(II-iii-58-60). In these …show more content…
He just assumed that Juliet is dead and jumps to conclusions that he is killing himself to be dead with the love of his life. Romeo heads out to buy poison and says, “A dram of poison, such soon-speeding gear/ as will disperse itself through all the veins/ that the life-weary taker may fall dead”(V-ii-60-63). After Romeo buys the poison, he decides to go to Juliet's tomb and kill himself next to Juliet’s body. When he reaches the tomb he kills Paris, because they get into a fight. He then reaches Juliet’s body and kills himself right before Juliet wakes up. Then Juliet decides to kill herself with Romeo’s dagger. If Romeo wouldn’t of bought the poison he wouldn’t of died, Juliet wouldn't of died, and Paris wouldn’t of
