The story of Romeo & Juliet by William Shakespeare is a romantic tragedy about two young star-crossed lovers whose deaths stop their feuding families. Romeo, a Montague and Juliet, a Capulet fall in love at a Capulet party. They know that their families will not approve so they get married by Friar Laurence, a priest. Unfortunately, before their honeymoon night, Tybalt, Juliet’s cousin kills Mercutio, Romeo’s best friend which cause Romeo to avenge Mercutio’s death and Romeo kills Tybalt. This causes Romeo to be banished from Verona and sent to Mantua. Juliet’s parents force her to marry Paris, a wealthy kinsman to Prince Escalus, the prince of Verona, Juliet has no idea what to do because she is already married to Romeo, so Juliet goes to Friar Laurence, who sets up a plan for Juliet to drink a potion and appear dead for 42 hours, so Romeo would be there when she wakes and they can run off to live in Mantua. …show more content…
Romeo never gets the message and Romeo’s servant, Balthasar sees Juliet getting put in the tomb, he runs to tell Romeo. Romeo sees Juliet dead and Romeo kills himself with poison. When Juliet wakes, she finds out Romeo is dead and stabs herself with Romeo’s dagger. Friar Laurence tells the Prince what happens and the Prince blames himself for not stopping it. The story ends with Lord Capulet and Lord Montague ending their feud because their feud killed their children. Romeo & Juliet takes place in Verona,Italy around the Elizabethan age.
