In the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, many choices are made and some of them were the wrong ones. Actions are taken and abused in all the wrong ways. If they would have thought about what they are about to do before they did it, the outcomes may have been completely opposite. Early in Act III, Tybalt and Mercutio are conversing in the middle of Verona. By this part in the play, both families, Capulet and Montague, have been warned to never fight again in the streets or both families will be punished. While they are yelling at eachother, Mercutio draws his sword and then Tybalt draw his and they start to fight. Romeo tries to intervene to stop the families from fighting but he is ignored. During the fight, Tybalt slays Mercutio and he says “I am hurt; A plague o’ both your houses! I am sped” (III.i.125). By Mercutio saying this, he has cursed both families. To get out of this forced marriage, Juliet chooses to take a potion to make her seem dead to her family. She talks to the Friar about this and they plan to tell Romeo that she is actually asleep waiting for him to come get her so they may flee and live together. Her final words before she falls into a deep sleep are “Romeo, I come! This do I drink to thee.” (IV. iiii.). Friar Laurence then sends Friar John to Mantua to take the note about Juliet to Romeo, but the outbreak of a plague sets him back. Romeo comes too early and finds Juliet laying limp in the Capulet cell. He believes Juliet is dead so he poisons himself because he cannot live without her. Soon after, Juliet wakes and is hoping to find her love waiting for her to wake, but she finds him laying next to her dead. She is in shock and does not know how this happened. All she knows is that she must be with Romeo and will not take no for an answer. With this being said, she takes a dagger and stabs herself because there is no love on Earth without her
