Romeo and Juliet a tragic story of teenage love gone wrong. letting your emotions rule your decisions can lead to unfortunate events. Acting impulsively without seeing potential red flags to fulfill one’s desires instead of allowing the situation to flow naturally leads to many bad events it does not let the situation fully develop into what it could have been. Acting impulsively when making crucial decisions without thinking rationally can have severe consequences in all ways of life. Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare, a Shakespearean tragedy. Almost all the Decisions made throughout the play are acted on impulse and cause a chain reaction that quickens the tragedy. If the characters thought more rationally and took in all possible outcomes then Romeo and Juliet could have lived. The poor choices made in the play lead to Romeo and Juliet’s marriage, Romeo killing Tybalt, fights between families, and the death of Romeo and Juliet. On Monday not even a full day after meeting each other Romeo and Juliet decide to get married, and Later that day they are married by Friar Lawrence. Juliet confesses her love to Romeo and asks him to swear his love. "I have no joy of this contract tonight. It is too rash, too unadvised, too sudden." (Act 2, Scene 2, lines 124-125). This quote shows Juliet sees Romeo’s impulsive nature as she is questioning the hasty decision to marry Romeo, whom she has just met. Even though Juliet questions if Romeo is sure about his feelings she still professes her love to him again.“My bounty is as boundless as the sea, My love as deep; the more I give to thee, The more I have, for both are infinite.” (Act 2, Scene 2, lines 140-142). Juliet is telling Romeo that her love for him has no end and is infinite. She says that the more love she gives to him the more love she has to give. Believing her to be dead, Romeo decided to take his own life rather than live without her. If Romeo was less quick to judge he would have realized that Juliet was alive, or if he went to see Frair Lawrence then Juliet and him could have lived. Romeo’s impulsive decision to kill himself also killed Juliet. In this quote, Romeo declares that he will "set up [his] everlasting rest" in the tomb beside Juliet. He also said that he will "shake the yoke of inauspicious stars From this world-wearied flesh,". which means that he will escape the bad luck and suffering that have plagued him throughout his life. Romeo's decision to kill himself shows how deeply he loves Juliet and how willing he is to suffer the consequences of his actions, even if it means death. When Juliet wakes up and sees Romeo dead beside her she finds his knife and stabs herself, for she would rather be dead with ROmoe than alive without him. “O, happy dagger, This is thy sheath. There rust, and let me die.” (Act 5, Scene 3, lines 174- 175) Romeo and Juliet killing themselves show how passionate they were about each other and how they would do anything for love.
