Romeo As A Tragic Hero

A tragic hero is a person who is nobel person, is likable, they are high on the social standards and they have flaws to lead to their downfall. This usually makes them a person who is very likable by everyone and makes it seem like their death was very unattended and not needed. They make us feel bad about their death basically. Romeo shows us this in many ways through out the play Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare.

The first thing that popped out to me about Romeo being a tragic hero and all is that Lord Capulet himself says that Romeo is a good guy and praises him when Tybalt comes up to him and says that Romeo is at the party( Act1.Scene 5.Lines 64-70). It wasn’t just Lord Capulet that praised him in the Capulet house though. The nurse also tells Romeo that he has a good heart when he was asking her to deliver a message from Juliet(Act 2. Scene 4. Lines 82-83). This just shows that Romeo is a well liked person through out Verona. …show more content…

The second way is that he was raised up by a lord which is his father and if I recall a tragic hero is a person that is in the high social standards ,so that automatically shows us that he is a contestant to be a tragic
