The qualities of a good leader must incorporate these four characteristics into their ability to lead. Being candid, dedicated, responsible, and helpful. I am an open, share honesty and be to the point person so I expect that from my guide. Commitment and resolve to their guidance is a must for me to stay interested. Keeping the drive with focus and management of priorities works my need to want more. I need to know that who I am looking to for ideas is willing to share their opinions and assure me to find strength when insecure. The Country attached themselves to his calm spirit and vision which added to his appeal. It is funny that Regan was known as the "Great Communicator" but he could not formulate ideals the way a politician was expected. There is so much to be said about likability which Regan had just by a smile. A real leader needs to be believable while offering optimism. Ronald Reagan had big dreams for what American could grow into being and American ideals flourish when we feel uplifted. A leadership role is not a positive role for others if you do not accept they are flawed but driven. Ronald Regan inspired so many to believe because he was real and honest with accountability. When I think and look back on my admiration for leaders and Regan, I think of his humor. A great example of Ronald Regan's powerful legacy as a leader is his policy intervention of Lebanon. The response to the 240 American's killed under his policy allowed the base to see Ronald Regan was right not to strike back hard creating war. He knew the line on where to sit negotiating with the Soviet Union where he was taken seriously but not as a threat. Tom Peter's leadership points in this unit focus heavily on listening.
