Propaganda began to address women, persuading them that it was their duty to start working for the men. The film The Life and Times of Rosie the Riveter gives personal accounts of some of the hardships women faced in the era surrounding WWII, and how the media was used to create a desire for women to work.
Heartland by Karen Joy Fowler "Heartland" is told from a unknown male narrator who details life in a ‘new Oz.’ The story follows his career at a fast food restaurant and the death of a co-worker. The narrator opens the story by discussing Willina’s death. She was his co-worker at the Emerald Arches, the fast-food restaurant where the narrator is employed. The story then progresses into Willina’s story and by extension the ways in which Oz has changed since the time of Dorothy.

Picture book review: Stolen girl August 2015 ‘Stolen girl’ written by Trina Saffioti and illustrated by Norma MacDonald, is a touching, emotionally stirring picture book about the tourment a young aboriginal girl experiences when she was taken away from her mother, by the Australian government. The story takes place in a children’s home and is told with the use of small bursts of detailed paragraphs and intense, colourful and melancholy illustrations. Written for 8-10 year olds, the purpose of the book represents the experiences of children who were a part of the stolen generation in the 1900s-1970s. In this time period it was government policy in Australia that each indigenous Australian child was to be removed from their families as the

Introduction The American Revolution was a very long and extensive war that lasted from 1775 until 1783, and as a result America gained its independence. It is very imperative to highlight the significant role that women played during the American Revolution. During this era a woman was often portrayed as illiterate, child-bearing mother, and a homemaker.
Around the world, people are viewed as superior to others, leading to some being given more rights than others. The number of rights an individual is given depends on gender, ethnic groups, social class, etc. For example, around the world, men are allowed- and encouraged- to receive an education, whereas women are not forced to. 66 million females are out of school for simple reasons such as religion or traditional beliefs. The females not given the opportunity to receive an education crave the opportunity to learn because they know education can lead to a brighter future.
‘Daddy’s little girls’ is a touching movie. The movie incites sadness in its viewers, the anguish felt by the protagonist and his children is one that many can identify with and understand. The central character Monty was an ambitious young man who grew up in an inner city community, he had three beautiful girls with is former partner, Jennifer. Monty’s daughters remained his priority throughout the movie and he fought tirelessly for the benefit of his children. Monty had to endure the selfishness of Jennifer, her poor parenting skills and her bad ill sense of judgement.

Hooliganism is often called as the ‘English disease’, so the question arises if hooliganism is a typical feature of the British culture? Therefore the following paper will explain through examples whether hooliganism can be named a typical English disease or not.
