She did so many tremendous things, influenced so many people, and made such a big impact in the music industry. Selena mainly focused on Mexican music when she first started. She did not always stick to her Mexican culture and Mexican music though. This is the story and background of Selena Quintanilla-Perez.
The famous Tejano Queen, Selena Quintanilla-Perez, was born in Houston, Texas on April 16, 1971. Selena was involved in the music industry from a very early age because her family was struggling to find a way to get by. Selena started off singing with her siblings, calling themselves, “Selena y Los Dinos”. Quickly Selena’s music career started taking off and soon enough Selena became known all over the United States as the Queen of Tejano music. Selena was murdered on March 31, 1995 by one of the members of her fan club.
Evelia Ramos was born in Jalisco, Mexico. She was born in September 11, 1980. When she was older, her and my dad decided to get married. Then they decided to move to Oakland California. When they came to California they were expected to get a better life they would have in Mexico.

She has been playing since kindergarten, and played rec for nine years. Now, Saulino is on the Cleveland High School Junior Varsity team. Said Saulino about making the team; “I was very excited to get on the team because everyone was is good, and I didn’t think I was that level.”

Her mother Justa Samperio an alcoholic woman would exchange her to a man called Jose Lugo for a couple of beer. Barraza was sexually abuse; as a result she became a mother at the age of 13.
Gloria E. Anzaldua was an influential voice during the Third Wave of Feminism, she was responsible for making Feminism a more inclusive movement towards Women of Color. Anzaldua was born in South Texas to a traditional Mexican-American household complete with 3 other siblings. The families main source of income came from the field work they did, many times Anzaldua would find herself returning to the fields during financial hardship. During her childhood she was marked by a hormonal disorder that triggered premature puberty, as well as being ostracized by her teachers for speaking Spanish. Despite all her hardships, she worked hard and even graduate as the Valedictorian for her class.
Before coming to Full Sail University, I had encountered many obstacles. One in particular placed so much doubt inside my mind and made me question if this was what I truly wanted to do, or who I wanted to become. Should I leave my family that is grieving over our loved one or do I follow my dreams that my grandmother wanted me to do? This was the hardest decision of my life, and I was torn in two each day that passed I know that both of you have doubts about this career choice, because you don’t see what it does and can do for me. What I’ve faced is similar to her, yet different as well this female artist started at the bottom and slowly worked her way to the top.

I would be honored to be able to contribute to the National Honor Society if given the chance to take part in such a prestigious organization. Ever since I was in elementary school, I have driven myself to achieve knowledge with all the effort that I could muster. This drive is why I want to be a member of the National Honor Society; I believe that the organization will help to encourage my desire for scholarship by developing my leadership skills. I yearn to have a more positive impact on the people in my life, in my community, and in society in general. I believe that the organization will provide me with a better chance to achieve that goal by presenting me with more opportunities to help out in the school and community.
When I graduate high school, I plan on having future goals that I plan on achieving. My first goal is to go to college and get a degree. I plan on attending Purdue NorthWest majoring in engineering and minoring in business. This is my number one future goal that I need to accomplish because to be able to have a nice life, I need to go to college to support my future family. My next future goal would be get a starting job to be able to support my future family.
