Outside was an orange sky with pink clouds. Everyday at this time is when I would go outside and start my mile run. It was a fun thing to look forward to. It would be something I could benefit from in the future. I knew that when the time for sports came, I would be happy that I didn 't give up on my goal. Soon I would realize that there would be some extraordinary benefits and some difficulties. This experience, though, had a major impact. At 7:10 my sister called me downstairs. "Are you ready," she asked. "Yeah," I replied. Grabbing my black running shoes, I opened the door to a cold, fresh breeze. It was the first humid week in July, so the daytime was blazing hot, but the nighttime was cool and icy. Putting my headphones in I choose an upbeat song and began running. The beginning was a struggle and I got exhausted and tired easily. Sharp pain shot up my side, and I had to push myself to get to the top of the hill. I took out my phone to check the time. It was 7:30. My muscles were getting tired, and I decided it was time to head back home. I wanted to give up and never dare to go run outside unless I was forced to again. Three days passed by. I now knew my own strength. Now when I run, it could be for almost hours on end. I never thought that from the beginning I could pull something off like this. I became stronger and even happier. Whenever someone talks about quitting or giving up, I tell them about the experience I had and how positive the outcome was. Never giving up even when you want to is a sign of strength. Believing in yourself even with the simplest things, is a good characteristic to have. Hopefully the next time I think of giving up, I will remember the impact it had on me. From now on I will go by this famous quote, "Quitters never win, and winners never
