It was the last inning in our all-star game, and we were losing 10 to 8. Our team had 2 outs and we couldn’t get the third. Our pitcher was doing bad, throwing all balls, while all of us in the field were tired, ready to fall asleep at any moment. There goes another walk. They score again.
On Aug 5,2015 at 11:05am Sgt Alivcar and myself we 're conducting ramp searches when we pulled over a white Cadilac STS. Sgt Alicvar would ask the driver to step out of the vehicle and open up all of the doors/ compartments. I would then procced to search the car starting on the driver side and working my way around te vehicle to the trunk. As I began to search the trunk and lift up mat to the tire. I spotted a bag with numerous items in it and what appeared to be bath salts.
For fifteen years, I put my heart, effort, and soul into my band Murky Waters. I made it into a career that supports my wife, my stepdaughter, and my parents. Murky Waters is what saved my family and me from poverty in the ghetto of Warsaw, Poland, and it’s what saved me from giving up on life entirely before I met my wife. I met her only a year after Murky Waters began and she was introduced to me by my best friend and drummer, Tony. Anka was two months pregnant with my stepdaughter, Antonia, at the time we met.
so I had to be one of the top four girls in the state of Oklahoma. Although nationals didn?t turn out as well as I had hoped it was an honor to have competed against the best in the world. Making it to nationals was not easy. After countless hours of practicing I began to feel confident with my horse and myself but then the unthinkable happened.
The transition from eighth grade to ninth grade is one of the most difficult but unforgettable things a student must do in his adolescence. For me, it was filled with new opportunities of taking Ap classes and joining clubs. One of these cubs was Youth and Government (Y&G). For as long as I can remember my brother, Riad, has boasted about how amazing Y&G is and how it has changed his life. My brother is three years older then me, so as a freshman he was a senior in Y&G.
Standing in front of the TV, watching the morning news before getting a refill on his coffee. Andrew Barnes declared, “Thanks to the warm rain we had last night, it’s going to be another hot sticky day.” Getting his attention, the announcer said, “We are going live to our reporter at the scene of the double homicide in Jackson Heights.” “Early yesterday afternoon, police found an elderly couple, viciously murdered in their home on Olive Avenue. They identified them as Mr. Mrs. Stevens.
When disadvantages occur, it feels bad and upsetting. But at that moment it is best to keep an open mind to try to think positive and overcome the challenges that occur. It might be difficult to think positive when you have a disadvantage, but thinking positive is one of the best ways to overcome the obstacle. Sharing an example would be the time our soccer team made it into the finals. Only ten minutes were left into the game was over.
I have had tough hope once, I had to move to a different state and start to get used to the new place. Moving was hard and took a long time to move everything to our new house. My new house was hard to get used to because it was different and I wasn 't used to it which made it hard to sleep and I had to leave my friends behind and I would have to find new friends. Making new friends was hard because I would be alone until I found new friends and I would have no one to talk to so I would be very quiet. Usually I would always be talking to a friend and I am only social with friends.
In my brief life, I have overcome a lot of adversity. My mom fled Mexico with her three young children to escape domestic violence. When we came to this country we had only a few personal belongings and the promise of a better future. We came to this country and lived in a small trailer with no toilet other than a bucket, and no shower except for the one that was lent to us from the kindness of a stranger, our new neighbor. As a single parent, my mother had to work day and night to support us.
“Your word is spring.” I thought for awhile about a story that had to do with spring. Then I finally got it. “Well this one time I had to babysit a group of my sisters’ friends during spring break. It had just snowed the week before, but it had been warm so it was all the snow melted.
I laid all alone in a plain white twin sized hospital bed. My face pale as can be, as if I had just seen a ghost. My body was still, no movement, as if I were paralyzed. The news I had received was tremendously overwhelming. I felt trapped knowing there was no way out, no other option.
Overworked. That’s the closest word that I could use to describe this week. I feel like this journal is going to be about me just bickering, yet there is some stuff you might want to read about. First of all, I have been sleeping three hours this week because of upcoming midterms, quizzes, and assignments due. I am sleep deprived and mentally drained and as my second year in college I have never had my life drained out of my body like a passing shadow.
I didn 't ever want to go back on that bike again but my brother encouraged me to do it so one day I grabbed the bike and I got on it and forgot all about the fact that the training wheels were off I rode it and I didn 't fall from that day on I rode my bike and I 'd fall here and there but I kept on doing it till I didn 't anymore if I 'd never gotten the courage to
“I am not a quitter... I am not a quitter.” With sweat dripping down my whole body, my foot took a monstrous step into the mud pit and displayed the results. The sun cooked my vulnerable arms while I exited the woods with my muddy feet. Following the faint noises of the crowd and my teammates, I managed to find my way out of the woods.
One of my experiences with failure took place when I was in fourth grade. There were many problems accumulated and I was a child who needed people to see if I did my homework or study for the test, because I couldn’t concentrate and was distracted by anything in the room. My brother also had problems that year, he needed more attention because he didn’t get along with his math teacher and my Mom was always after him with the homework; otherwise he would have failed Math at the end of the year. In fourth grade, the teacher that was assigned to us was one of the strict teachers that were in that school
