Rush Bowls: Strengths And Weaknesses

Primary Research
For our primary research, we conducted a survey and reached fifty total students, forty-five who lived on campus and 5 who lived off campus. Twenty-eight of the survey takers were male and twenty-two were females. There were thirteen freshman, twenty-one sophomores, 9 juniors and 6 seniors who took the survey and a very wide variety of majors. Majority of the individuals who took the survey were Exercise Science majors. We handed out the surveys in residence halls and the dining halls, because that was the easiest way to find a high volume of on campus residents. What our survey found was that many students would choose a healthier fast food option on campus if it was available.

First off, acai bowls and smoothies are the latest trend. In the last year the desire to eat these bowls and smoothies have increased rapidly. Rush Bowl is very reasonably priced, fitting the tight budget many college students have, and can be quickly picked up, which fights the tight time schedule students have. Rush Bowls also has the online ordering option that can make purchasing a Rush Bowl even more efficient and convenient. Rush Bowls can also meet the standards of everyone, even with dietary restrictions. Rush Bowls are vegetarian, vegan, wheat free, nut free, soy free, dairy free, and non GMO. This widens the variety of students who would benefit from a Rush Bowls on campus. Placing a Rush Bowls on campus would also be perfect because the owners try to place them in high traffic areas. There are no other places that have a wide range of acai bowls within 5 miles of campus. This would make Rush Bowls the only supplier meaning there wouldn’t be much competition. Some weaknesses of bringing a Rush Bowls to campus is how new the franchise is. Initially bringing in Rush Bowls students may not know what it is, and therefore shy away from trying it or finding out what it is. Another weakness is Rush Bowls need a 500-1,200 square foot space for dine in and take out. This may be hard to find a place to put our franchise because of the layout of our campus. The best place to put Rush Bowls is in Devil’s Den. Unfortunately Devil’s Den closes on Friday night until Monday morning. This would lose much of the weekend crowd as many students to look for “to go food” on the
