kyle svachula Mr. Maliciay Saint Teresa of Avila was born on March 28th 1515, in Gotarrendura, Spain. At a young age Saint Theresa showed interested in catholicism. At the age of seven she wanted to be a martyr. She convinced her brother to be one with her. One day they went to the moor to be beheaded, but luckily there uncle found them before they went in. When saint theresa was fourteen her mother died, leaving saint theresa in great sorrow. She turned and started praying to her role model the virgin mary. She felt a need to go, from all the presser she received, she got very ill from all of this. And decided to return home for her well being. Her time at home was brief it is told that one night saint teresa snook out of her father's house. And joined the carmelite monastery convent of the incarnation. While there she began rigorous penances and mortifications. Then the mysterious illness she had a while back recurred, so she decided to return to her father's house for a cure again. Out of nowhere saint theresa fell into a coma for four days. Although in saint theresa's time a coma ment the end of the road for many people, she woke up miraculously against all the odds stacked against her. But she didn't just wake up and be ok. She was paralyzed for three years, that is until Saint joseph came and cured saint theresa. or so it is told that had occurred. very shortly after saint thersa was cured she had a vision that was “sorely wounded CHRIST”. Moving on from that vision, saint theresa went on to focus more on christ. And on August twenty fourth fifteen-sixty two saint teresa opened the convent of saint joseph. During this time she wrote a very famous book called the “Way of perfection”. showing insight on what her life is about and what she does on a daily basis.
