By the time David got outside the police and ambulance had arrived. The paramedics put their mom on a stretcher, while the firefighters ran inside to get Cassie. A few minutes later the fighters came out holding Cassie in their arms. While the paramedics put Cassie on another stretcher, David looked at Cassie and he knew she was dead. Meanwhile, the firefighters put the fire. The fire was only in Cassie’s room, so only that part of the house was damaged. The firefighters concluded that the fire was caused by lamp that fell over while Cassie was sleeping.
One month later Leo is sitting by the basement remembering the tragic accident. After Leo starts to calm down he runs to David’s room and yells, “David, David the toys they are alive and they scared me!” David just

“I go it,” David exclaims. “In history class we learned about something similar happening. Back in 1692 there were a series of murders in a town called Salem. They occurred on the first day of every month. Some of these victims were burnt alive, while others were stabbed to death. The towns people lived in fear, they would nail their doors shut the first day of every month, but miraculously no matter what they did someone was still murdered. It was common in 1692 to find towns people blaming each other and arguing. It got so out of hand that people started blaming their own friends for being witches or murders and they would burn their friends, their neighbors, or even their families alive. Then one day after a little girl’s mom was murdered, the little girl claimed she saw her doll stab her mom. The town’s people laughed at her and called her psychotic. A month later a father claimed he saw his daughter’s doll hang is daughter. After a year more and more people claimed seeing toys come to life and murder people. Every person who admitted to seeing a toy come to life was murdered the following month. The towns’ people knew they had to do
